enough to make you sick

I was quite shocked on Monday when I read in my local newspaper, that some scroat had burgled a woman, the woman confronted the lad and was then found in an out house 24 hours later, suffering from bruses, penuonia and dheydration. I found out from a colleague today, that this poor old lady died the early hours of this morning. That poor woman had such a shock her body could not take it.
I kinda got upset as I used to see her every morning on the way to my mums in town, she would not hurt a fly. A colleague of Pauls lives over the back and was in shock when I told him, even he said why couldnt I save her. All I really want to know is has anything like this ever effected you?:(

Sometimes I wish public beheadings was still around. Only that I could do it with a Rusty saw to the person who commit this sick act of violence.

Yes it has - which is why (although I DO find it disgusting) I no longer find it a shock that these things happen.

p.s. I'm not going into details. I just thought I'd tell you I agree and leave it at that.

We just want to get hold of them, scare the ****e out of them and then stick them in that outhouse to see how they like it, but instead of 24 hours make it a week. I used to see her totering about stockton high street, she would not hurt a fly.

I know what you mean, I see things like this everyday in my profession, but it just seemed to close to home.

Theres a lot to be said for punishing the criminal with the crime they commited. See how they would like to be left in that state.

I understand all the issues with capital punishment, but i also think this country is a soft touch when it comes to punishment

I think something that puts the aggressor in the place of the victim, can work - we live in such a 'safe' world, that people aren't being confronted with reality, enough.

I found that out when a 'youth' decided to step in front of me, hurtling downhill on my bike, for a 'laugh', there was no way I was able to stop & I ploughed into him..

the look of shock on that kids face when he realised that even a 60kg bloke on a push bike is going to hurt when he hits you at 20mph, was priceless...

cause & effect appear to have come undone :(

That is a terrible thing.
Once again it makes me wonder what the world is coming to.
These people have no soul, no feelings whatsoever and its tragic that such people exist and can make peoples lives such a misery. They wouldnt give a care in the world and deserve nothing. They are part of the **** of the earth.

I think the problem is that many youngsters do not always think through what consequences might be of certain actions..I think that sometimes films and TV give them a false perspective.Which is why the lad never thought that your bike would actually hurt him until it did.

I wonder how many walking around with knives in their pockets actually realise how easy it is to kill and expect victims to spring up and leg it to a hospital.I really think that they do not visualise what happens next. They only go so far with their planning and no further.

It's the only way I can account for some really moronic behaviour on tha part of some students that I teach. They tend only to live in the moment and cannot visualise what happens next. The Jackass school of life so to speak..

I bet these two scrotes can't believe that this woman is dead because they won't think they hurt her that much.. :(

It's very easy for the do-gooders to spout their crap, but if they were actually confronted with this happening to a neighbour or family member they would probably feel different.

It shocks me and it shocks most of us here, thats because we acknowledge its going on. Theres no easier option for some than turning the other way instead of feeling for the people suffering from disgusting acts like this.

It has happened to my family, I am sad to say. My 6 yr old son saw the thief climb over the yard wall, luckly for conn the thief never turned round or if he had, I am sad to say I might not have a son today. But he is still traumatised by the event, as he has an emotional disorder, he does not like being round strangers and he wets the bed.
I was kinda gonna do a plea as I know that there are a lot of members who come from the Teeside area, if they know anything to please go and tell the police. But I know how people protect each other despite what they have done. Like I say we have been here and we are still living the nightmare. We are due to go on holiday soon, but my son doesnt want to go as he thinks the house will be ramsacked while we are away.

With regard to any post made here so far or the incident itself I can't quite make out what you are on about.

Hopefully there will be enough DNA left lying about the place and sooner or later the gits will be caught.
Hopefully the community is small enough for the police to find out who it is likely to be. They've probably already boasted about their crime amongst their friends before they realised the outcome and it could just be a matter of time before the whispers start and someone turns them in.
I have a relative (a pensioner too) living round the corner from that incident and it is extremely worrying indeed despite the fact that family always keep in very regular contact.

I guess you cant see what I'm on about because the do-gooders have so far avoided this thread, for the very reasons I stated.

Its a disgusting act, and do-gooders go to ground when facts like this are brought to light, its easy to just avoid this thread and turn the other way.
(I admit to doing that myself with another subject)

The do-gooders have no argument in this sort of thread, these sort of criminals need strict punishment!

What is also sad, is that when these idiots are caught, some bleeding heart liberal will no doubt blame drugs, or a harsh home life, or the fact that they just don't have the life they want. It will go to court, they may get probation or a suspended sentence, effectively a slap on the wrist; in the unlikely case that they do go into custody, they will possibly end up with a more comfortable life than the lady who died, no doubt with the occasional safari to help them see the error of their ways. Makes you sick.

I have a friend who lives nextdoor to my parents, she is a copper, we were talking this morning, I mentioned the name of a particular person, but that is not what they are belive me!! I and they 2 are on the same track as what my colleagues at north tees are. I hope it is this person, as it is one less peice of **** to deal with.
Teeside used to be a lovely area Flub will tell you this, but sadly since the council idiots decided to knock down certain parts of this area for so called 'progress', they have been dispersed into our community with the various problems that they have and they have caused nothing but trouble.
When Paul gets his compo I am sad to say we are leaving this area, as Paul is sick of me getting attacked at work mainly by druggies I may add and the way this area is becomming I cannot stay as I will end up having a breakdown. This story has affected the whole of the teeside community and everyone wants this person brought to justice. This person who attacked the elderly lady is a coward and is evil. But what will he get 10yrs/5yrs with good behaveiour. I wanna be sick

That is just totally out of order.

So, what label would you have for me? Am I one of the "do-gooders"? I know what I am not and that is one of those who comes in, shouts "cut their heads off" and then ****s off back out of the thread with no useful contribution whatsoever. In fact, don't answer because I don't care for that kind of non-argument and I don't want to take it further off topic.

I've just been to visit my elderly relative. She's extremely careful and won't answer the door to anyone unless they have an appointment. Even I have to phone before I visit.
They've got police CCTV van at the nearby shops and patrolling. There's also a cop stationed in the library in case anyone as any useful info.

me283, you seem to know an awful lot about the legal system. Either that or you are just typing what you read in the Sun.

Let me make one thing clear. People that do things like this TO ANYONE are ****. They should be imprisoned, or made to do National Service.

BTW, as I have said before, from what I have seen, prison ISN'T the holiday camp the press describe.

But the one thing I do think we need is proof the people accused actually did it.

Well I have said it before in other threads and my opinion still has not changed. The sooner this country starts treating criminals like criminals not charity cases the better off we will all be, including the criminals.

I honestly have no label for you.

I work with a do-gooder who says if someone raped his wife/killed her etc, he would "turn the other cheek"

He thinks however everyone else should have that view, because people who carry out these sick crimes are "human beings"

:notopic: But, that did happen to me. My then girlfriend was attacked by an ex boyfriend of hers, and, although I wasn't there, I certainly didn't "turn the other cheek" when I did see him (she had told me who it was). The only thing that saved him was the fact he could run faster than me.

Shall we say, I have possibly a different knowledge of prison and the legal system than you do, and it is most certainly not based upon what I read in ANY of the newspapers I see (why do you mention the Sun? That tells me something already...).

"Proof" will be determined by the courts; punishment too, although the latter tends to be ridiculously weak these days, in my opinion. Personally, if this were a relative of mine, I would make sure that regardless of what punishment the court gave them, I would meet up with them at some stage. I swear that they would never then so much as stare at anyone in a threatening manner.

And yes, I might end up in prison... but I could do with a holiday.

Possibly, but I am pretty sure you didn't mention the others.. Might go off and look later..

Anyway, I think we are all getting a little off topic here.. The topic is an old lady being attacked?

I think we can all safely agree that the perpetrators (if it can be proved they did it) should be punished severely?

Absolutely; but I think a major issue for some of us here is that they probably won't be punished anything like severely enough.

I don't ask about your basis for opinions, do I?

But it wasn't about your "opinion". It was about some kind of "knowing".
You make a cryptic remark about knowing something more of the prison/legal system than the average person might in what comes across as some vain attempt to bolster your statement or dissuade opposition to it. We don't know from what aspect that knowledge may be or even whether you are just full of BS.

I think you need to have been around here a lot longer before you can just expect people to just take you at your word like that.

You can take what I say in whatever way you like. This (as far as I recall) is a forum for sharing opinions; hence, whatever I say on here is my opinion, I shouldn't need to point that out for everything I write.

Regardless of whatever my experience and knowledge of prison and the legal system is, you can choose whether you agree with my opinions or not; to be honest, I don't give a flying one either way. The same goes for whether or not you believe what I say when I believe it to be fact.:)

Whatever way I like? OK, shall I take it that you used to mow the lawns outside the prison, made the tea in the probation office or you went out with a high court judge? I dunno.
Opinion is just that: opinion. That is perfectly fine. However, if you want to profess that you have some kind of knowing then you have to be prepared to back it up with something a little more convincing when questioned.

Like I say, choose to believe what you like; but you have no God-given right to question me as if I am not believable. Otherwise I shall read your every posting and question it in the minutest detail.

Yes, I would say I have more knowledge of the prison system than the average person. In what way, I am not prepared to divulge - some things are a little too personal too discuss in a public forum. Make of that what you will, as I said earlier, I don't give a tinker's cuss.

then if that is the case , why get so involved and wound up , i reckon you dont need to go into detail , just back your argument or point up , at the end of the day who gives a toss if you have been to prison or are a warden , it wont any difference to me , at the end of the day you are a faceless internet presence who i am highly unlikely to meet , and even if you had committed some nasty crime i would be prepared to accept that you had learned your lesson and were now trying to get on with your life , anyway , back on topic , did i mention that a lad i work with lived next door to this poor woman :( , i hope to god he does not find out who did it :disturbd:

I see, you don't like it when someone questions the basis of your opinion - i.e. the facts on which you base you opinion.
Nobody is questioning your right to opinionate freely but when you say you "know" certain things in order to give you opinion/argument a leg up then you must be prepared to go some way to back it up. You, it seems, are not even prepared to make any compromise. If you say that you don't care about that then don't be surprised if nobody takes you seriously. If you still don't care then why are you here?

You have a problem with my being here? Tough. As far as I know, I have as much right to be here as you.

And for whom exactly do you speak, when you say "nobody" takes me seriously? Let's have some facts to back up that statement.

I am sorry to say me but I have to agree with flub, you have not seen what impact this has had on this community, the elderly people are really scarred and I must admit, I do not even feel safe anymore. You need facts and figures to back up your statements.

Which statements Allie? The statement that I think I know a bit about the prison system? I don't see what kind of difference that will make to the community at all... but to be honest, there are certain issues that I don't want to talk about. I can speak about the prison system, and comfortably so; but as for how I have gleaned my knowledge, I am sorry but that's a little too personal in my opinion. So, believe me or not, accept my opinions or not, that's your choice. I shall still state my opinions, and back them up when I feel I need to.

My opinion in this case is that the **** who effectively killed the old lady should be beaten to within an inch of his life... That's what SHOULD happen, but in reality I doubt if there will be much more than a slap on the wrist, and that's what makes me sick.

Fair enough, if that's the case. But if she has been found to be the victim of a burglary, what then? Is it a case of "her own fault for hiding"? Personally I think that anyone who burgles the elderly, which eventally leads to death, should be treated as a murderer. Similar to the recent thred titled "****". Just my opinion.

And for whom exactly do you speak, when you say "nobody" takes me seriously? Let's have some facts to back up that statement.

And I have as much right to ask for you to elaborate on either what you know or how you come to know it. It is a fair request.

I don't have any facts to back up THAT "statement" because you quoted only a portion of what I actually said. The portion that suits your rant.
I SAID, don't be surprised if nobody takes you seriously. I never said that people will not take you seriously full stop. You will always have your unquestioning fans but right now you seem surprised and annoyed that you've had the basis of your opinion questioned.

How about "don't be bothered if nobody takes me seriously"? If you want to ask a personal question, PM me; but surely even you must realise there are some things that people don't like to discuss in open forum?

Now, how about you try staying on-topic, instead of taking an unhealthy interest in my personal life?

Re: enough to make you sick

Well I have posted this before and can elaborate on the prison system as it aint no cushty number as many have suggested.

Prison is not about sitting in your cell for hours of the day bored.

I am not afraid to admit I have been to prison all be it for a short time and my conviction was overturned thanks to the justice system actually working for once in this country all be it a long time ago.

Just to dispell some myths here.

Bear in mind not many prisons have single cells so you are locked up with some bloke you dont know from Adam so its not just a case of being bored in my case your wondering if this guy is going to lose it at some point and take his revenge on you.

You fear for every vital second of life.

On entry to the prison your searched and allowed to keep some of your personal belongings and then forced into a shower with an onlooker watching you and then searched again and given your prisoner number and a set of rules.

Then your marched off and placed into a cell with someone you never met before and know nothing of what they are in for.

After managing to contain your bowel movements your introduced if your lucky to your probation officer or assigned prison officer and given the run down of the place.

You are then told of your responsibility to keep the cell clean which is subject to inspection at any point.

As for excercise and Gyms that is a priveledge usually only given to remand prisoners as open prisons dont have these as they are considered you have enough excercise walking about the place.

The televisions are there but are either for privledges or paid for by the prisoner.

Same as the Canteen or prison shop where you can by essentials and cigs etc again paid for by the prisoner.

You get allowed out for what they call free association which usually means access to an open area where there are pool tables and the like.

Throughout the day you cannot just sit in your cell and while the hours away as much as you would like to as every knock on that cell door puts the fear of god into you but in fairness it was usually to go and attend some course or other or visit the library or attend some course which is supposed to improve your skills for release and prevent you re-offending etc.

Most prisons depending on what your in for allow one or two visits a month from your loved ones and they have to undergo the indignancy of being searched and vetted just to get in and see you for a measly 30min to 1 hour visit.

The media tend to pick on the wealthy being shipped off to some lax prison and getting it good just because they have the money to buy all these extra privledges and lead the unsuspecting into thinking it is a cushty life inside.

Let me tell you and any others reading unless you got **** loadsa money its far from a cushty little break at her majesty expense.

Now i am not trying to justify it should be an easy life if you are guilty of a crime that deserves the punishment but if you were like me wrongly sent down then it wasnt no picnic.

Sorry to dispell any myths here but it really gets my goat when people with no experience and are gullable to what the media say and try to portray prison as an easy option.

In closing to give people an example of how bad it can be, although i was only in for a little under 3 months nearly 15 years ago can you imagine being forced into a cell with someone you never knew and given the top bunk and on my first night chose the option to **** myself rather than risk getting down from the top bunk and disturbing the guy below.

Its harsh and it happened.
