Mine is a modified windowsblinds theme
|
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
I have not had time to think about changing the theme on this PC.
On my work PC as I use Citrix a lot and the security is tied down then theme changes make it look strange and inconsistent so FP it is. |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
I have a firefox theme, looks like my laminated floor and my desk, i know i'm sad but i feel secure in familiar surroundings.

Re: Which Windows Theme ???
Mine is pretty nice, it makes my computer look like OSX :)

Re: Which Windows Theme ???
The XP one in that it's not windows classic, but the silver version.
Can't stand XP in classic, it looks too retro. Why not make it look like 3.1 or DOS? Doesn't make sense to me. |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
i use the silver xp style too... not fisher-price at all! :p:
edit: on an untirely unrelated note, how come 'stick-tongue-out-smiley' is :p: not :P, :p or :P: ? it's mildly irritating me... :dunce: |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
I have the XP siler style, but I would like a good theme program, or more themes from microsoft, cause these are a bit bland.
Zinglebarb's theme looks ok, but I tried windowblinds and the program was dreadful. does anyone know where i can get microsoft themes? ik |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
If you install and run style xp all the visual styles and theres 100'S all just sit under Display Properties , Appearance tab
So it only has to be run the once, the only reason im on windowsblinds now is style xp does not work with 64bit xp Try downloading some visual styles from the themexp site, unzip and copy into windows\resources\themes folder I do not know for sure if this will work but this is where stylexp leaves them |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
Classic all the way - cannot stand the teletubbie mode.
|
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
Modblue theme with just the hacked uxtheme.dll; no bloatware installed.

Re: Which Windows Theme ???

I'm running the XP Media Centre theme which looks really good and requires no hacking of the OS or any crappy skinning programs.

Or there are other places to get it ;) |
Re: Which Windows Theme ???
If you don't want/can't get StyleXP, just use this. It'll automatically patch your uxtheme.dll for you so you can use whatever theme you want.
I used to chop and change my themes every week it seemed like, until I stumbled across Royal Four. Unless something amazing is released, this one is staying for a long time. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2005/04/1.jpg |

Mal: Thousands of people use this dll without problems. If you use Style XP you're using it. You can't apply visual styles without it. Also, if you decide you don't want it, run the app again and it replaces the hacked dll with the original again. __________________ Quote:

Re: Which Windows Theme ???
I used the uxtheme.dll mod file to enable theme downloading without a external application program being used.
I found it okay although if you do permit or reboot before the file replacement has been overridden and made to accept the modded file, it can be hell if not impossible to fix it. |
