Who should I vote for? (not just for the undecided)

This should compliment the vote thread already running. (admins, merge it if you like, but I think it's a good one to have on it's own)

http://www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com

This is what I got:
Quote:

Your expected outcome:
Conservative

Your actual outcome:
Labour -20
Conservative 1
Liberal Democrat 4
UK Independence Party -1
Green -1

You should vote: Liberal Democrat :shocked:

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

Re: Who should I vote for? (not just for the undecided)

Labour = 1

Conservative = 19

Liberal Democrat = -10

UK Independance Party = 21

Green = -1

You should vote: UK Independence PartyUKIP's primary focus is on Europe, where the party is strongly against joining both the EU constitution and the Euro. UKIP is also firmly in favour of limiting immigration. The party does not take a clear line on some other policy issues, but supports scrapping university tuition fees; it is strongly against income tax rises and favour reducing fuel duty.

You should vote: Labour The Labour Party is broadly pro-Europe and takes a strong line in favour of all anti-terrorism measures, and of course supported the war in Iraq. Labour is against explicit increases in income tax to fund public services and against the abolition of university tuition fees, but has pledged to reintroduce maintenance grants for students.

Pfft the results are bogus. I support europe and the euro and i think immgrations ok and i get 7 for ukip!?

I scored 12 on UKIP? I'm not even British :Yikes: And I definitely prefer the Green and Labour over the Tories. This quiz has been poorly thought out/rigged if you ask me.

I don't vouch for it's accuracy in any way... I must admit, I think it was pretty accurate for me though.

It certainly hasn't changed my mind.

I think its biased towards ukip in some way. After all how can i score a 7 when I fully support the EU and the euro and strongly disagree with the limit on immigration

Yes, my feeling is that it gives you an advice on a very limited number of questions. If you don't care about some of them the results will easily get skewed. Very little room for balanced opinions there.

It's re-affirmed my belief anyway, saw it a few days ago and it was accurate for me too.

You should vote: Green

The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against.

Strange.. The party I'm most likely to vote for is the one who scored worse :erm:

The poll doesnt ask some other key questions, presume you care about those ones and easily skews the results. You can get very poor scores on partys you belive in

Yes, even changing just one option from strongly (dis)agree to (dis)agree can make a big difference to the results.

Pretty much as I expected:

Your expected outcome:
Conservative

Your actual outcome:

Labour 4
Conservative 43
Liberal Democrat -31
UK Independence Party 15
Green -3

You should vote: Conservative

The Conservative Party is strongly against joining the Euro and against greater use of taxation to fund public services. The party broadly supported the Iraq war and backs greater policing and ID cards. The Tories are against increasing the minimum wage above the rate of inflation, and have committed to abolishing university tuition fees. They support 'virtual vouchers' for private education.

I wouldn't worry about it Incog....it's told me to vote Green...but it didn't ask me any questions regarding the environment...so I'd like to know how it came to that conclusion!

Sounds about right to me, I've voted for them for years. :)

Re: Who should I vote for? (not just for the undecided)

Hmm, I thought conservative, and got conservative 23 :tu:

at the Euro elections I opted for UKIP - they were second at 17. Seems to have got it right to me.

The assesment criteria is quite limited, and selective though on the questions asked. I don't know enough if the few questions raised are truly representative of all the issues. I suspect it's how you rate things, a stongly agree or disagree will carry far more weight than any other option, and overwrite a few more moderate opinions you might have.

No huge shock, apart from that Labour came last :D
