Re: favourite channel numbers keep changeing

Some of the channels on my Samsung box keep going to the bottom of the favourites list. I put them back, but it keeps on happening, so I've left them there. Luckily, the majority of the channels affected are the radio and shopping channels, so they aren't missed.

I don't know why it does it for, but you're not alone :)

Mal/invisibleboy/whoever: exactly which channels move? ("only the rubbish ones" doesn't narrow it down enough :) )

Well the ones that have moved since the last time, are:

Paramount,*
BBC 4,*
CBeebies,*
Nick Toons,
1 xtra BBC,
BBC World,
BBC Wales,
The Storm,
Century FM,
Prem Chr,
Radio Smash Hits,
The Dating Channel,
Reality TV
Screenshop.

*It's the first time for these channels. It tends to be the same ones.

Seems the same channels are doing the same thing on our Samsung STB too - appearing at the bottom of the list, so if we have BBC1 on and then press "Channel -" on the remote, we get to them...

Has anyone reported this issue to ntl?

Re: favourite channel numbers keep changeing

i dont have my favourites set up, however i notice that the sequnece of channels does keep changing. If i restore my list to the default sequence (e.g. sequential increasing number) i can guarantee that after about a week some of the channels will have been moved higher than 950 when their channel number is lower than 950.

I used to have 2 boxes and this happened a lot on only one of them .... then it died, the replacement never did it .... so I suspect the box itself

Re: favourite channel numbers keep changeing

Haven't logged it with NTL... didn't realise it to be that big an issue. I accepted that I was fussy about what order I wanted the channels to be in, so accepted that sometimes I need to tidy it up a bit.
The pace box we had previously never did it though... I may log it with them next time it happens - the event log on the stb may prove useful :)

edit: now I think about it, we have started getting some kind of "morphing" on the picture, but as far as I can make out, it only seems to be with the terrestrial channels through the NTL box (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) - I never watch much on those channels anyway :p: I always thought I'd just raise it with them when I have another problem - get it all over and done with at the same time as its not affecting me much at the moment.

Hmmm.....

Would appear that I'm not alone after all (damn, this search facility is good :) ).

All the time I spent carefully arranging the channel order on my Samsung box (3 months ago) has gone to waste today. Came home from work and they've all reverted to the default order.

Oh well, needed something to do tonight :erm:

If you haven't already started to sort them out a useful tip is to do them in reverse order, then all you have to do is find the last channel you want to move, hit "move to top", then move the next to last to the top etc which means that you don't have to keep re-arranging them and moving them up and down!
