Cap issues - please vote
Further to the various speed/cap discussions, please vote as to whether you have been capped/restricted/warned or otherwise compromised if you are on an ntl provided line.

Re: Cap issues - please vote
I've thrashed it, and I get away with it. :D I don't always though - yesterday's usage was 407MB down, my record is 2.7GB down. :o
I await a b**locking!! |
Re: Cap issues - please vote
The only time I've gone over the 'limit' was when I downloaded half life 2 from steam.

Re: Cap issues - please vote
If you are an online gamer its easy to go over a gig a day quite often (not every day, but often) the demo's and clients for online games (Everquest 2, Eve Online, etc are well over a gig), even high quality games movies are often 500 or 600 meg. A membership to Fileplanet or Gamespot will easily tip you over on a regular basis.

Re: Cap issues - please vote
No offence people, but this thread is not to discuss what/how much you have downloaded.
All you need to do is vote, & comment if you have been contacted. Thanks. :) |
Re: Cap issues - please vote
Poll needs rewording :
1. I always go over the 1gig/day guideline and have never been contacted. 2. I sometimes go over the 1gig/day guideline and have never been contacted. 3. I have been warned about my usage. 4. I have been cut off due to my usage. 5. I never go over the 1gig/day guideline. |
Re: Cap issues - please vote
Is this vote for the new tariffs or since the soft cap was introduced? I can't say I've ever heard of anyone being cut off, as of yet.

One person has said they have been cut off, wonder why?
|
Re: Cap issues - please vote
I can't see it being true, why would they be hanging round a cable forum if they no longer had a cable connection? :)
|
Re: Cap issues - please vote
I also go over the 1 gig a day limit, I did check my bw for 2 months, the first month I used 43gig and the 2nd month I used 39 gig, and to date I have not had any contact with ntl about it!

Re: Cap issues - please vote
I would just like to clarify that when we get the speed upgrades "technically" there will be no cap and it will be like before (1gb per day but they never check). But later this year the intend on putting hard caps on? Is the later this year putting hard caps on definite or are they still thinking about putting the hard caps in place?
|
Re: Cap issues - please vote
I assume it's pretty definite.
But please keep actual cap discussion in the main cap thread - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=21625 This thread is just a vote. |
