Loads fine here with auto obtain selected, however I did have to use my Zen dial up account to update my AV deffiles earlier today after trying for almost 2 days on Ntl BB, suspect Ntl DNS very slow to update.

Re: north manc

EDIT, dial up is so slow,

Can reach other sites but still cannot get to cableforum via Ntl BB.

You cannot tracert to cableforum - our firewall blocks icmp traffic.

Hey Bill welcome to my random proxy world mind it don't happen as often.... First time for a long while... My fault for saying it was working fine here earlier as someone decided I needed the same treatment as the eng.. :D

Re: north manc

Well don't think NTL want any calls regarding proxies. 0845 650 0925 then put in phone number> 2>1>3 then silence and disconnection.........

so tried going for BB not working and same silence so NTL dont play music anymore while you wait...

Can any NTL telephone engineer go and check the above number is working correctly please.

So how come there was no message on server status explaining this to customers.

Seems a bit silly could have saved loads of calls to the support line

Or is it just me that thinks that would be sensible:D

DOH, I did know but it slipped my mind. :dunce: Can now access this site via Ntl BB without specifying proxies. Did not have time ( or inclination ) to mess around last night, but could not get here yesterday at all.

Sorry but the time has come. What the hell does that mean. An explanation in English will do

I am sorry but when a fault is somewhere else why is it NTL's fault. Or is this yet another case of WE ARE DAMMED IF WE DO AND DAMMED IF WE DONT.

Bill during this problem a certain tech blammed my equipment not the internet so am very annoyed about this.
I reconfigurfed the system here connected without firewall and was told it was OS.
After a few hours its all ok nowt changed here at all
So you can understand me being a lot irritable
