No Sunday faults helpline?

Seems that the faults line was merged with the stardard helpline, and that is no longer open on Sundays.

I was without any service at all (phone, TV, broadband) from about 08:00 until 14:00 on Sunday. Presumably dealt with after I left a message on the faults department answerphone.

Faults department answerphone. Good grief.

Couldn't obtain the broadband faults service phone number as I had no broadband... (!)

I got one with my welcome pack if I remember.

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

I was also without any service for part of Sunday. On attempting to contact NTL (using their free phone number which ended up costing me due to having to use a mobile as I had no phone line, and after enduring endless attempts to get me to visit the website with my non-existent connection), I was met with the 'This department is closed, our opening hours are...' message in all departments, but offered an emergency voicemailbox for phone support, which was full and redirected me into an endless loop.

I wasn't best pleased after that.

Ask them for a refund of your phone call costs

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

We haven't been open on a sunday for ages... where did you get the number from?

what was the problem in the end? I know that we arent allowed to credit the customer if its a fault caused by them, but when is it caused by the customer?:p:

I like BT's phone system - where if there's a que - they call you back. we wouldnt get so many angry customers that say "I've been waiting 19999999 hours for you! RAR!"

No idea.
I assume my voicemail was picked up and that the fault was fixed. Nobody got in touch to say what the problem was.

How could the customer cause an outage of phone, tv and broadband? No, don't answer that - they'll all be doing it!

steven_azari 18-11-2004 17:12

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

lol you wouldnt believe the excuses we get! lmao!

I have had customers asking for refunds because their cable modem blew up because they forced a 3 pin plug into a faulty 2 pin wall socket. (dont ask me how they managed that).

I've had 1 customer breaking a set top box on the phone to me on purpose.

my reply: "er... do you want me to leave a note for the person comming to pick that up?"

doesnt that cost a monthly charge of 12.99?

or are you using a pay as you go scheme?

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

Thats bad no emergancy fault cover for Sunday, You'd think with NTL's ever growing customer base they would have cover, I guess they will be no cover for Xmas & New Year weekend ?

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

alot of companies arent open on sunday, all the staff would love NTL to be open sunday again, but at the moment, after the telewest deal, they havent been able to afford it.

they will go back to this, but after a financial strain after a shopping spree, they cant afford this.

I believe sundays will be open again, but not for a while yet.

besides, I personally think there are more important areas to be looked at before the sunday service, such as extending the opening hours of their disconnections department

Are you sure you work for them as the complete communications company have obviously not briefed their staff again.

what are you trying to say then -

1. We have all been in a time warp and they lost money by buying telewest.

2. They have lost money by following the lamb to the slaughter by mimicking telewests upgrade speeds and prices :Yikes: surely not.

:D

Nope, I've got a couple of free accounts (not NTL) one from Virgin, the other from my hosting service which I can use if broadband goes up the spout.

Step 1 yes I read your sig all though it had no relevance to the post I made.

Step 2 Well I fully understand so I do not feel the need to ask.

However let me remind you of a few things as you have to me.

Firstly telling me to act a little more grown up is an insult so I suggest you take a look here

Secondly I have been here from the start and further more have worked for NTL as a Senior Tech Support for more time than I care to remember in the past and have probably forgotten more about Customer Services/Tech Support than you appear to know. :D

Thirdly did you not notice the use of smilies in my post.

Lastly to back this up one of your colleagues who was alert at the time actually postive repped me for the post you got confused over, all be it my sense of humour matched hers but obviously not yours.

 :D

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

here is a good point that i have to make regarding the no customer services on a sunday!

today is the best day possible to say this as it is the day before wrestlemania, and for any ntl customers it also spells the words "ha ha u canny buy it" now i dnt hear anyone arguing, because to my knowledge their is no possible way to purchase this event, because u cant phone them!?! u cant buy with the red button!?! and u cant order on-line (which i honestly think in this day and age especially with the rise in broadband users)

im not trying to argue with any ntl workers here, i would just like to know if anyone could tell me how to purchase the wrestlemania event. i mean for heavens sake, if there is a way to purchase this event, i dnt think that ntl have done a very good job in telling their customers.

all i ask is if they could redeem themselves by telling me what i should do, and to tell their customers about live WWE events in future

thanx

Just one question springs to mind... how many weeks in advance did you know about Wrestlemania being a PPV event and why did you wait till the last minute to book it? We all realise that it's not nice that there isn't 24/7 support for NTL products but sometimes we customers don't exactly help ourselves
Oh and what does NTL CS staff here need to redeem themselves for? This is an unofficial help forum that they volunteer their time on. It's not their fault that you cannot ring a support line that hasn't been open on Sunday for quite some time.

Bob 03-04-2005 18:40

Re: No Sunday faults helpline?

I don't see the fuss about PPV. Its quite simple to order everything through the On Demand button - that should work even if there is no press red option :)

I don't think he meant the staff that post on here Paul. It appears he meant ntl.

And how are NTL going to do that through this forum? From this

It looks as though he is expecting someone to redeem themself here by telling him what to do now.

PM Mick if you want to advertise the fact that you are CS ;) Some of our pass-through membership can get a little aggressive with NTL staff at times :(

Welcome to CF Dexter.

Trust me, the last thing you want to do is advertise the fact that you're a CSR. You'll spend all day deleting PMs from people DEMANDING that you help them.

probably far better just to pick the posts that you think you can help with and decide on your own terms ;)

Anyway, nice to have you aboard, look forward to seeing you around.

Im not one to be drawn into an argument. If people start with the insults/aggression, i'll make a note of their name and make sure, I never help them. I'm nice to those who are nice to me

Sound strategy though mate, nice one :tu:

It doesn't look like that to me at all Paul. I still think he meant that ntl in general, needs to redeem themselves.

Hi Dexter, :welcome:

You can manually specify a user title e.g "NTL CSR" by going through UserCP > Edit Profile. :)
