Another exclusive brought to you from the CF Team, as mentioned here.

Season Details
  • The PremPlus season starts on 14th August 2004.
  • The first 2 games are on Saturday August 14th
  • Spurs v Liverpool (12.45)
  • Middlesbrough v Newcastle (17.15)
  • The name has changed from Premiership Plus to PremPlus.
  • There will be 50 PremPlus matches throughout the season. The live matches are exclusive to PremPlus customers.
  • PremPlus is ONLY available to Digital TV customers.
Offer
  • Pre Season Ticket Offer: £50 †“ thatââ‚ ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s 50 games for just £1 each!
  • The offer ends on the 31st August †“ so make sure customers sign up early so they donââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t miss out watching 50 exclusive, live PremPlus games for just £1 per game!
  • Customers must sign up by 14th August to ensure they donââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t miss a second of the action of the new 2004-2005 season.
Offer Details
  • ntl cannot offer a Season Ticket as a one off payment.
  • Therefore customers will actually pay £5 per month from August 2004 - May 2005.
  • Customers must be advised that by signing up to the PremPlus offer they are agreeing to pay for the entire season. If they disconnect the service before the season is over they will still be liable for the remaining cost.
  • Sky customers will have the same offer. However, they will have to pay for their season ticket in one up-front payment. They do not offer their customers the chance to split the cost across the season. If they disconnect their service they will not get a refund.
  • The associate offer is the same as the customer offer †“ 50 exclusive, live PremPlus matches for just £50.
  • PremPlus is not discountable at all.
Early cancellation of the £50 Season Ticket
  • If a customer calls in to cancel the service, they should be advised that this is not possible as the service is a Season Ticket and the charge cannot be removed.
  • The legal terms and conditions are as follows:
Quote:

PremPlus is only available to Digital TV customers. £50 †œpre season ticketÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šà ¬Ã‚Â subscription will be billed in 10 equal monthly instalments from August 2004 and will continue to be charged even if you cancel your PremPlus season ticket or do not watch a particular PremPlus match
Quote:

.
  • This is the same for a voluntary disconnection †“ the charge should be continued to be raised until the end of the season.
  • If a customer moves to a non-provisionable address, the customer should be advised that the balance of the Season Ticket will have to be paid and a one-off manual adjustment made as follows:
Quote:

o If last £5.00 is raised in August, the adjustment is £45
o If last £5.00 is raised in September, the adjustment is £40

  • ICMS: Tariff code: M2F36 - DG PREMIERSHIP PLUS
Q&As

Q: I only paid £1 per month last season, why does it now cost £5 per month?

A: Sky now owns PremPlus and we must charge our customers the same price that Sky charges their customers. However, the £50 pre season ticket offer was only available to Sky customers until 30th June. ntl customers have this offer extended until 31st August.
(Telewest may have this offer as well)

Q: Why are you offering a season ticket but splitting the payment?

A: Our billing systems cannot set up a one off payment for a season ticket, but rest assured you will only pay £50 in total for the season which is the same as Sky.

Q: Will I get the same season ticket offer of £50 in September?

A: No, this offer is only valid until 31st August. There will be a different season ticket offer from September but it will not be at the same great low cost of just £50 for the whole season.

Q: If I subscribe half way through the season will I get a half price season ticket?

A: We do not have the season ticket prices beyond 31st August. The best offer available really is the £50 pre season ticket †“ it is great value at just £1 per game for the entire season!

Q: This offer is too expensive, why shouldnââ‚à ‚¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t I just disconnect my service and go to Sky?

A: Iâ₠™m sorry you feel that way but let me reassure you that this is the same offer that was available to Sky customers. Sky customers were only given until 30th June to subscribe to this offer but ntl customers have the offer until 31st August. You will not get a cheaper PremPlus deal anywhere else. It is a great value deal †“ just £50 for 50 exclusive, live PremPlus games throughout the entire season.

Q: If I sign after 14th August will I get a discount because I have missed the first match?

A: Unfortunately not. The £50 offer is valid until 31st August, there is no discount available. So donââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t miss out on 1 second of the action †“ sign up to today!

Q: Is there a cheaper way to watch the matches other than paying £50?

A: You can purchase the matches individually for £6 each but this could be expensive if you want to watch all of the matches. The £50 pre season ticket offer is just £1 per game or £5 per month.

Will customers who have previously signed up for the old package, be automatically signed up for this?

I assume that live matches can be watched by those who purchase a season ticket and those who pay individually. As such, either is a "PremPlus customer".

The individual may not get the "live" matches by the sounds of it ?

I thought that might be the case; but who would pay £6 to watch a match that they already know the result of?

This might seem stupid, but can someone please tell me how I sign up for PremPlus. Is there somewhere online or do I have to phone.
I would check out channel 900 but the bottom of the screen cant be seen (thats where the phone number is)....
If anyone can help, Thankyou....

Try calling them, although the Premplus package hasn't been officially launched yet ...

The phone number for this offer is 0800 052 0968, as advertised on the PremPlus channel (Langley 900)

EDIT: Although, I just called this number, and it routes into the national IVR at the moment...

No, you have to resign up. Something to do with the billing codes on the system which was set at £1 previously can't be reactivated I think

and the fact that the price has increased by £4 a month might have something to do with it ;)

Nem the people that purchase the games as a one off for £6 will see the match live the only difference being is that they will pay £6 and will have to order it throught the remote. Where as the 'Season ticket' peop,le will not have to order anything as each game will be shown automatically :)

This part isn't correct - Sky will have a £50 offer between 1 August and 5 September.

It is correct - Sky are charging £75 today.

NTL cannot predict what offers Sky may or may not offer in the future and If you phone up to order they'll happily take £75 there and then. They won't tell you to phone back on 1st Aug to save £25 and they won't tell you to trawl through the small print in some grubby little publication just to see if there's another offer on it's way. Of course, the full price on Sky is £100, payable in advance by credit or debit card.

http://www.sky.com/skycom/article/0,...115821,00.html

PremPlus terms and conditions

The price payable for PremPlus depends on whether you are a residential subscriber to one or both of Sky Sports 1 and 2 on Sky digital at the time you order.

Subscribers to Sky Sports 1 or 2 can purchase a PremPlus season ticket for just £75.

If you do not subscribe to Sky Sports 1 or 2, a PremPlus season ticket will cost you £100. Subscribers to Sky Sports 1 or 2 can purchase individual games for £6. For non-Sky Sports subscribers individual games can be purchased for £12.

Please be advised a £1 telephone booking fee will be applied to individual PremPlus games purchases not made with your Sky remote control.

You can now buy a season ticket for all 50 exclusive games for just £50. The season ticket normally costs £75 but if you buy before 31st August, you’ll get PremPlus for just £50 - that’s a great saving of £25 and works out to just £1* per game!

As mentioned above sky haven't decided which ones to show. Part of the contract for PPV footy means that each team has to feature twice in a season, so they have an even mix at the start of the season so they can then pick more attractive games towards the end as all contract obligations have been forfilled

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/...?article=85197Might be of use to someone. I printed it out and blue-tac it to my wall ;)

Why are all the matches on a saturday now? will this be the same for 05?

Debating whether to get it coz I work till half 5 on saturday and will only be home for the second half. Do matches get replayed in full when there are no live games being played? (i.e. do they show replays of previous games the other 6 days when nothings scheduled for the channel?)

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

as far as i know once the game and all the analysis has finished the channel stops.. The sat games have to start at 5:15 as there is a agreement with the football leage that no prem games will be shown live on tv between 2:30 and 5:15.. the div one clubs etc fear they will loose attendance if top flight clubs are on tv during matches on a sat

Nor 03-08-2004 20:42

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

Alot of the games seem to kick off at 1pm aswell so if you work saturdays its probably a waste of money for the few games that you'll see the second half of.

I was abit dissapointed when I saw the price had risen from £10 to £50 but lets face it, for the last 2 years we've been very lucky to get it that cheap. Probably the only bonus of having NTL :)

I reckon I'll be signing up though, quite like the fact that its £5 a month rather than the £50 up front aswell.

WE HAVE JUST HEARD THAT THEY HAVE CHANGED THE RULES

Have a look at the small print at the bottom of this page!

http://www.ntlworld.com/data-feeds/e...miership_plus/

One minute they say they are not geared up for a one off payment, & the next, it is a one off payment or nothing.

Yeah I called there and its not possible apparantly to pay per month. Kinda crap really, especially considering those people who signed up before a couple of days ago would probably be paying it monthly. Unless they're all gonna get a fright when £50 goes on their bill.

To Clarify.

There was a printing error in the literature sent to customers with regards PPV charges and how this could be paid.

Bottom line is there is a one off payment of £50. The reason for this is that up untill the end of last season ntl held joint rights with sky for PPV football and was able to give a great offer. However this year (as with most of the football rights) sky gobbled them all up and so now effectivley set our prices through the amount they charge us for each subscriber. They requested the money be paid upfront, and for anyone wishing to take PPV subscription after season start, they will still have the £50 one off payment.

Marketing did send a mail out to sales this morning asking us to apologise to any people who have received the incorrect literature. I personally cannot justfy the £50, given the amount of games I watch on it and as such have decided not to renew this season.

Don't worry if you have not called to canx your subscription from last year as a new code has been put on with the new charges so you should not be charged unless you request the £50 season ticket.

loftus 05-08-2004 00:46

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

So what about the people who have signed up on the understanding it was £5 a month. Can we cancel? It's going to be a tight month - not sure I can stretch to £50 in one go.

Nor 05-08-2004 01:27

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

I don't understand the 'printing error' stuff. How can a fundamental change to the method in which PremPlus is billed be a printing error ? More likely there was a change of mind when NTL thought, hang on a minute, why are we letting our billing system get in the way of a chance to get £50 up front instead of over the next 10 months.

Basically, NTL have lost the chance of getting £50 of my money - I simply cannot afford it this month.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Sky putting the squeeze on NTL, following Sky's disastrous business results yesterday ?

Yes- each game (highlights) will appear overnight.
No- no red button service.

Ok, I get the no red button thing (hey, it's expected)...but you reckon the highlights will appear overnight....not sure what you mean!

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

"To choose their game, Sky Sports viewers simply press the red button on their Sky digital remote during the Match Choice and launch †˜Sky Sports ActiveÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šà ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ to see an on-screen menu of matches. The number or †˜scrollÃƒÂ¢à ¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€Š¾Ã‚¢ and †˜selectÃƒÂ¢à ¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€Š¾Ã‚¢ keys are used to choose a match or switch between matches. Viewers who do not use the interactive service - or do not have Sky digital - will see 50 minutes of highlights from one given match. (*emphasis mine)

"Saturday nightÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šà ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s broadcast of Football First will be followed by a series of repeats of the Match Choice element, shown four times into the night and again at 6am and 7.30am on Sunday. During each showing Sky Sports viewers can select a different match from the full choice, via the interactive menu. "

The last bit is a tad confusing....for me...

okay, maybe we'll have to wait and see.

There are 8 games on Saturday, if we ignore Prem Plus coverage (for arguments sake) 1 match delayed coverage at 20.25 and then 6 hours of 7 50min games....it seems to work.

I'm basically intrigued as I plan to move to SKY if I can't get to see the 'Pool play every week.....!

well wat can you say, I called in on behalf of my father to get added on my services. im not rich and can no way offord 50 pound month extra. what are ntl thinking? I know they dont control the services however they do control the payment method and I would expect they have allready purchased the services. If it was me I would try to bring people on board in spite of sky trying to help people with payments.

i wonder if they are thinking. all i hope is they fall flat on there face this year, it may teach them a lesson for next year. i spend over 100pm with various services, I dont expect prefencial treatment however I like everyone dont expect to be treated like crap in the process!!! this just pushes me more into my decision for sky services!

sorry about the length blowing off steam after a long pointess connversation with cable - wow big surprise!

Same boat as me leeswin. You'd think they would make the effort and accomodate customers who are getting abit of a shock with the total change in policy.

I actually wonder if NTL is making any profit on PremPlus this year. I get the feeling that they have just matched Sky's offer to keep people from jumping ship but are doing so on a zero profit basis. If that is the case then NTL would not care how many people cannot afford a one off £50 as it would make no difference to their profits either way.

Bob ?? I can understand what you are saying and to an extent I agree with what you are sayin. However if they loose customers because of this (and sky) surely all that revenue could have been saved with 5 more mins of thought and poss speaking with customers.

Next year when sky do the same again and expect all that money in one go they may have more customers joining because they know it will be easier to offord.

Re: 2004/2005 Premiership Season Offer

Got my "August" bill yesterday. I have been charged £5 for Prem Plus for the period 4 - 6 August and another £5 for Prem Plus for the period 7 August - 6 September! They are taking the money on a monthly basis; my only question now is why am I being charged for a 2 day period, 10 days before the season started? A call to CS will no doubt tell me that the 1st £5 was for August and the second £5 is for September, as I am paying in advance! Perhaps they will also be able to let me know when my BB will be back on line! 11 days of Spam to go through (so far! and I cannot check webmail through the PC's at work!) :dozey:

Hi All,
Well my bill came in with the £50 charged all in one go. I phoned CS straight away as I had been told I would be charged monthly buy the rep I ordered premplus from, CS told me that the terms/conditions had been changed and Ive gotta pay the full amount now. Funny way to run things really, not very customer friendly really :(
