Driving for me, far superior on the PC to anything the Xbox has to offer, especially with a Logitech MOMO force wheel along with Live for Speed, Grand Prix 4 or the classic Grand Prix Legends

I found TOCA (a demo I had) real hard with a keybord.
I have made a huge mistake and not added Command and Conquer style game :Yikes: but what do you class that as?

I don't play well with others :) Never really understood the appeal of playing a team game. People shooting you because they're idiots; you shooting people because they're idiots; having to carry people who couldn't hit a barn door with an anti-tank missile; and the maverics who just won't follow the plan and have to do their own thing - or are two thick to comprehend instructions. It would drive me nuts. It's my world - I'll save it on my own thankyou very much :D

I'm largely a FPS man, though I do enjoy one or two point 'n' click and platform games.

Ah, yes, however when it all comes together and you get a good team with non idiotic players these are the best games around.
Never really got into MOHAA though I do love Command & Conquer Renegade, if anybody wants an ass kicking, come play me on that :D

Manager style games, you manage the army and it's resources and strategy.

They are my favourite anyway - don't get much time to play them though.

Can't really compare a Manager game to a real time strategy, for starters manager games arnt Real time, and since thats a key factor in a Real time strategy, kinda thows that out of the window. ;)
RTS really needs its own vote catagory, though the closest in that list I would have to say would be Sims.

EDIT: Unless by Sims you mean The Sims and not the Genre Simulations.

You should try Live For Speed, I think it's around £12 and downloadable, it's the best online racing game I've ever played, difficulty is somewhere between GPL and F1 99-00, and you can tweak absolutely everything on the cars.

i like strategy games like Money Island the best.. had a great one called mystery of the druids which was really good and you had to think alot about it as well..

can't forget transport tycoon as well but can't get it to work under XP now.

Found that these days games look great but don't play very well.

Thinking of testing out MS Flight Sim one of these days to see what it's like

will have a look on goolge for it tonight.. i had GPL for about 6 6 years before i even played it.. when i finally got it working on a decent PC i couldn't play it :)

got GP4 which i guess is one of the best.. liked the orig Indycar \ CART game as could take all the downforce off and really slide and drive the car rather than be planted to the road..

Think they need to make a GPL for the 70's

http://lfs.racesimcentral.com/ I think there's a demo you can try out, but I think it's only with the really crap car.

FPS's are my first love game wise, closely followed by RTS and Civ3. :D

Dude111 02-01-2018 16:39

I like platform games :)

Atari 2600
Colecovision

And I also like Nintendo a little bit (Super Mario Brothers (1985) is about the only game I like on that)

I also LOVE early 80s arcade games!!! (Frogger,donkey kong,etc)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

that was one hell of a thread bump!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Do you use or like anything modern?

Dude111 02-01-2018 18:23

Hmmm not really mate.. To me they just arent fun.... The games they make now are horrible and not what I call FUN.....

The world started to die in the 80s (Well 1975) and by 2000 was dead.... Its sad....

Thank you for asking Stephen :)

If I may please ask you: What games do you like??

Stephen 02-01-2018 18:34

Re: What is your favourite style of game?

well I love my retro gaming still playing some SNES games as they are some of the best but I do love my current gen too. Mainly first person shooters like the new Doom and role playing games like Zelda and the South Park Fractured But Whole which is very funny. Also playing COD WWII and various other games.

There are a lot of fun and entertaining games out there now and the power of the new systems with amazing HD and 4K graphics is something to behold.

Wow, reviving a 14 year old thread may be the biggest forum necromancy I've ever seen. Well done sir :D .

Dude111 04-01-2018 18:23

Thank you buddy.....I find its better to add to an existing thread instead of starting a new one. (Especially on the same base) it looks cleaner,etc...

I hear ya Stevie :)

I quite like seeing an old thread pop up, it's good to see some old familiar faces that for what ever reason are no longer with us.

I like RTS, FPS and football manager btw

I've got degraded thumbs and I find modern games too difficult as a result. My thumbs wear out long before I've shot anyone.:(
