what does it for you?

So, inspired by the "best legs in the world" thread (short though it may be), i thought i would ask what peoples' preferences are ;)

personally i prefer face and legs, she has got to have a pretty face for dave :)

and all of those of you that say you prefer personality, you can answer too... there must be some element of physical attraction there too ;)

Re: what does it for you?

Some people just love girls that have massive boobs, legs, etc.
To me that is not important.
In fact I find girls that have huge boobs to impress guys and go to enlargment clinics just look unattractive.
I tend to go for natural looking people, with brown hair, nice eyes, and a great personality.
Plus once you get to know someone it doesnt matter what they look like, personaility is very important to me.

i have not disregarded the rest of your post your quite right, im commenting on this as a specific that i can agree with you on, the women i would like do not have to be supermodels or with large breasts, stick thin body, give me someone with personality looks come later, i find im attracted to people who may not be the best looking but you like them because of the personality, the way they are articulate, handle themselves, funny, attitude, you get that feeling, you click because of the personailty and fun you have...

I prefer natural girls without a load of makeup (preferably none).

However, a good pair of legs and mini-skirt are likely to get my attention. ;)

I love hair. Nice long hair. Really can't stand short hair. I like a girl with nice long red or blonde hair. Or any colour really, but a nice natural reddy brown is my favourite. I love to look at it, stroke/play with it and stuff.

Other than that it would have to be skin. Same reasons, to look, touch, stroke.

put like that, the abstract for me would be breasts, face, buttocks, legs ;)

- but personality &, above all, a sense of humour, are ultimately the most attractive traits, imo, :)

Personality first, then face/eyes. When it comes to the mundane: legs/buttocks rule supreme...

Re: what does it for you?

I voted 'other' because I really can't decide which bit I like best :D I guess it's the overall combination, all neatly sewn together by a nice personality, that really does it for me.

Halcyon 04-07-2004 23:09

Re: what does it for you?

I just pick up on certain things, the way someone laughs, how funny they are, the way they chat and we laugh.. that kind of thing.
Its true that we see the person first before talking to them, and then we can get to know them better....
But most people I have liked have been people I have had as friends or not been attracted to originally until I have got to know them and see their personality.
I guess its a mix of the two in a way. Sometimes you just dont know what it is...its the little things and everything about that person as you like them so much.
But thinking about how someone made you laugh, or how much fun you have together is something that you can share and remember.
A physical look is going to be nice for a while but it does not last and does not tell you half as much about the person as does their personality.

Dont know if I made sense there, I'm tired tonight but there you go.

aww never mind, you seem fun :naughty: seriously though i have seen some reasonably good looking women, quite thin (not stick thin) decent looking ( not the hottest) but the personality is left alot to be desired for i can tell you :erm:

All I can say is that looks are nothing if the person is ugly inside.
If someone attracts you because of their body or looks then you need to think about about wether you will still be attracted to them in years to come when those assets may no longer be the same.
Me, I'm a package person, looks aren't as important to me as the person is ;)

hair, face, personality. If shes so fat that she takes up the whole back-seat and drools while she talks and has a rag to clean her self with then it might turn me off...........what?

the one thing i can say with respect, most people who are young tend to go for the looks end of the spectrum, looks as you said are there for a limited time, sure some people dont age, but its atmospherically boring, i think the way society progresses upon pressuring people about their looks and 'shape' can sometimes be all too much, then again i dont fit demographics

no one is 100%... everyone has a gripe about something, relationships are two way, somethings have to give, i see your point about the drooling being offputting, but i suppose its each to their own.

Jerrek 05-07-2004 00:31

Re: what does it for you?

Strictly physically speaking, I like the face (women: long dark hair, men: short dark hair, spiked, or brush cut) and chest (women: boobies, men: muscle tone). I also like good looking feet. Nails on the toes and fingers should be clean, trimmed short (including on women, it is a huge disappointment if they have long nails), and not colored.

My physical "defect:" My nipples are kind of odd... They don't protrude, but they are rather "flat."

Earl of Bronze 05-07-2004 00:42

While I am a ''Whole'' package kind of guy, ther's nothing quite as nice as walking throught the city center, watching a tight, curvy ass (not covered by a thong). :naughty:  :devsmoke:

Stuart 05-07-2004 01:14

Re: what does it for you?

I have to admit, if I have to pick physical attributes, then I would choose boobs, face, legs, bum. However, I do find that personality is the most important thing I base my choice on (and can be the only thing).

Wierdly though, I tend to notice blonde women with big breasts (don't like breasts that are obviously fake) and nice bodies, but don't tend to go out with that sort of woman.

Jerrek 05-07-2004 03:08

Re: what does it for you?

A few rules for myself:

1. Fake = bad, period.

2. C, B, A = fine. D, E, F, etc. = bad (exception: a well-proportioned girl is important: tall girl, big boobs)

3. 5", 6" = best, 7" = ok, anything over that = bad

4. Colored nails = bad. Long nails = bad.

5. Ugly feet and ugly hands is a turn-off.

and lastly, the most important one:

6. A person must have either a penis, or boobies, but not both.

Not all beautiful people are nice, but nice people are always beautiful. :)

I can't remember where I heard that but it most probably was in a film or from TV.

I agree that looks aren't everything but the one thing that really counts is sexiness. A woman can be extremely beautiful but if she doesn't stir your emotions :naughty: then what good is beauty. I think Kate Beckinsale and Kirsty Gallagher are very beautiful but I do not find them sexy and therefore not for me.

There is a girl I know who is not particularly beautiful but she has the most beautiful blue eyes and I when I look into them, well, nothing else matters, I'm hers :romance:

punky 05-07-2004 03:54

Re: what does it for you?

What does it for me on the inside of a girl? Well for starters she has to be demure, down-to-earth, etc. The whole shy-girl-next-door-type. I really can't stand the loud brash type. Also, she has to have a real sense of humour and be able to take a joke. She'd need to for my really warped sense of humour with relationships (If anyone wants to know what that is like, you'd have to date me first :naughty: )

Also (and I know this won't win me any fans, but anyway) I like girls to be fair. It does irk me a fair bit sometimes when when i'm with a girl who is progressive, modern, etc, but suddenly morphs into a 1940's girl when the bill comes in. Or it is her round. I mean, she ate the food too, can't she kick in something? I don't let friends leech off me, so I shouldn't let someone who is a veritable stranger shouldn't either. Also, I buy a round, can't she? You'd think she'd want to considering she would know I wern't tampering with her drink or something, all to save 2 quid a time. Even if I was asked out by a well off lady, providing she wasn't super rich from a lottery win or something, or has a real top job, i'd still kick in, that is just the way I am. You know, fairs fair.

Jerrek 05-07-2004 04:42

Re: what does it for you?

I'm the opposite...

With girls I like the loud, brash type. I want a woman that can fight and beat me up. I would like to go skydiving with them.

I don't mind the fairness, but I don't require it. Although it may hurt my pocket a bit, I would not expect or force my wife or girlfriend to work. I do not expect them to pay the bills, nor do I expect them to pay for a movie ticket or the dinner. It is a guy thing.

With guys I want something similar compared to a girl. Harsh, fighter type. However, here I expect them to be fair. You buy your own movie ticket and you buy your own food. We do things 50/50 or so. I don't mind you leeching off my alcohol, provided I can do the same at another time.

It is a guy thing. :)

Well i'm tempted to say good for you, if your happy, but it doesn't really help the rest of us. I shouldn't be punished financially or in any other way because I just happen to be born a man. What's wrong with a bit of fairness and equality?

Re: what does it for you?

I voted other because, in nearly all cases you get something different that will say, yes or no and then sometimes everthing says yes, I am babbling a bit, oh well, you know what I mean things just click :D

Jon M 05-07-2004 08:23

Re: what does it for you?

To generalise wildly...

I'd expect this sort of vote to be heavily weighted towards the physical attributes for those that have never had a long term relationship.
Because you look before you buy (to use a shopping analogy) you tend to list the physical as more important, but as those who know what shopping is like.. you need to do more than just look at things before you buy, you have to find out if things fit, are as good in build quality as you thought.. etc etc.
I'm guessing therefore that those like me that voted "other" will have done so because they have a more mature outlook on what is attractive in a partner. Of course there are physical things that I enjoy about my wife, but they are secondary to her as a person.

If I had to pick something it would have to be her smile :)

i think eyes are the most important thing to me (nice blue eyes). personality is obviously important also

Stuart 05-07-2004 09:46

Re: what does it for you?

Well, I have to admit, when it comes to a date, while I like a girl to offer to pay, more often than not, I'll pay for everything myself.

Occasionally, I will let a girl pay for everything (actually, with my first girlfriend, I didn't get a choice. She just paid for everything), but I do this rarely.

i agree with you about the latter part of your post... when you love someone i think they grow in attractiveness... because being attractive isn't a purely physical thing

Re: what does it for you?

OK guys, now I'm properly confused. I have solid ground to say that personality and character are more important than looks to me. I am, afterall, in a position where I don't care about a person's sex.

However, to all the strictly straight and strictly gay people: physical attraction HAS to be more important than personality and character because it will supercede it in ALL cases, right? I mean, if you're straight, no matter how nice a guy is (if you're a guy), you won't want to do it with him. Isn't that implying that physical attraction is the most important aspect?

Not necessarily, a person's gender and sexuality can contribute as much to their personality as to their looks.

No, its because he would be a man. Men and women do have a biological attraction. If i cam right we are talking about looks. The sex of a person isn't really part of that

and all of those of you that say you prefer personality, you can answer too... there must be some element of physical attraction there too ;)
