What companies have you used to professionaly print digital photos ?

How good were they and how much?

I've used Jessops and Fotango. Both were good, Jessops have offers on most of the time to, plus theres a way of getting 10 free prints every time.

I used the Kodak online system
http://picturecenter.kodak2.de/kodapost/ very good results.
Jungle.com (gawd rest its soul) had its own online print service which was good.
Boots online print service may get a try soon as we have 55 photos to print at the moment.

Well boots use a piece of software to gather, prepare and send the photos online for printing and it quoted us £21 for 55. Can't remember the Kodak price but I will look around the kodak site to see what it was.

Kodak was 24p for 4inch but it looks a bit of a clunky process to send them off. Jessops is 34p for 6*4

max spielmann and boots also do a service instore, if you dare brave the fresh air ;)

you just burn the pics to a CD (i don't dare try using a memory card) and hand it over. they are both about 15p a print i think. quality is the same as a 35mm camera to my eyes, the photos look good anyway. but obv. it depends on the camera quality...

i just looked on Boots website and they do a net service. pheeewwwww dont have to go meet people!!! 30p for a 6*4

Well I just picked my pics up from Boots today.
They have on offer on at the moment - if you have over 50 pics on one memory card they will print them for 10p a pic - and they will do it in an hour if you take the memory card in before 3 I think - best to check with your local branch.
I thought the quality was very good - that was the price for 6 x 4 prints too.

That offers been around a while, seems dumb to me that it doesnt apply to internet supplied pics!

I prefer using the Internet. I normally use Directfoto (15p for a 6x4 plus 80p p&p - £3.20 minimum order) or, sometimes, Bonusprint (14p for a 6x4 plus £1.20 p&p - no minimum order); I'd say that the colour can be slightly off in both cases but, if no one remembers the original, who is going to worry about a slight colour cast on, say, a white dress. Bonusprint specifically say that they will do B&W, which is useful for those old scanned family pics - the quality in terms of blackness and whiteness is markedly superior to home printing.

Alternatively, if you only want a one off, use one of those Asda machine. They'll accept most types of media. The downside is you have to find some way of spending an hour in Asda while they process them.

One final point. If, like me, you can't resist correcting and cropping before sending them off, don't crop off as much as you can; leave a small border around the main subject. I've noticed that the final prints don't include all of the original. I suspect that they print them slightly oversize to allow for tolerances when they are guillotined.

i used this last night, send up 30 prints, its a bit slow as you cant compress the prints to send them up. You either have to use FTP or browser and send them as JPEG's which is a bit poor. Anyhow got my 30 pics up there to use my 30 free credits, only £1.50 delivery, so 5p per print. Had an email from them at 8:45 this morning saying they had been dispatched. Pretty impressive, hope the print quality is good too.
