Gerrrrrrrrrrrrr. Dialer

Well I though I would be a good neighbour and let the kid next door us my puter as his is in gettin fixed. Came home today to find I now got a porndialer. nkvd.us to be exact.

I.ve tried to spybot and adaware but cant get rid of the sodding thing, so if anyone can help I'd by truely grateful. Though this will be the last time I let anyone but me onto this computer. :mad:

Try booting it up in safe mode and search for it then?

Well I've just run hijackthis, and as a result just deleated 20 or so registery entries with nkvd in them. So hopefully thats it sorted or I've just broken stuff.

Cool, hopefully that will be the end of it, if not, try updating adaware and running it again or spywareblaster etc

Well the puters still seems to be workin, but the prefix changes are still in effect, and cant be deleated.

Russ D already gave you the answer i believe, you need to boot into Safe Mode and then use AdAware or Spybot to get rid of the dialer.

If you dont go into Safe Mode the file becomes "Locked" and there is nothing you can do with it.

WNA, its a dialer, it dials premium rate numbers, it won't be blocked by NIS unfortunately ;)

Oh Incog, my revenge is NI...................

The neighbours got their puter back and I was asked to come over a reinstall a load of softwear into the new HD. So while I was there I set up a remote admin account. :)

This could be a lot of fun over the comming weeks. :D :cool:

It would be worth the time locking th browser down to stop porn sites being accessed as it would save you a lot of grief next time :)
