possibly to give examples of customer service type situations you have been in, i.e. when you have showed a good level of customer service....

they might ask you more simply just about yourself and try and gauge how well you interact with people (since that is what the job will entail)

Here's one I got a few times before:
"Look out of your front window and describe to me what you can see".

And when you speak to them, imagine Avril is there smiling at you - honestly. If you feel happy and warm inside, it'll show through in your voice and that's one of the things they'd be looking for.

she should not be on my mind at that time.

i can do warm and happy anyway, although imagining her would make me freeze in enjoyment, the lady i spoke to on the phone sounded nice so that made my initial responses pleasent, it will be a lady that will contact me again :naughty:

i think telephone interviews are more to gauge how confident you are using the telephone and responding to questions and all taht. if you stop and stutter and umm and ahh etc etc then they will know straight away you would be a useless CSR (unless you are applying for a job at O2, in which case they would say welcome aboard :erm:)

Re: telephone interviews..........

if asked: so why do you think you are suitable for the role in this customer services job ?

my response: well in my experiance of using customer services the consumer needs to well informed and offered services which may cater to the consumers needs, if they are talked to a non provactive manner and understand what they are signing up to the revenue potential for the company is bound to be increased if sufficient services are signed up to by the consumer so as a whole everyone is happy....

what do you thik of that guys/gals ?

Make sure it's quiet - the first Telephone interview I had - there was a bunch of idiots (I was on a job centre course at the time) behind me.

I still got the job - but only because the person on the other end appreciated it when I turned round and told them to shut the F**K up.

Still - All I'm saying is - make sure it's quiet when you're on the phone :)

If you sound as enthusiastic to them as you did the other week when talking to me then you should have no problem at all. :D

Don't overdo the 'MBA' talk, i.e. carefull with the 'business' approach, be practical, smile (as said above), do a little research on the company if possible but keep it simple and straight forward, lastly be natural don't try TOO hard, let your own personality come through.

When I answer the phone I always ask how I can help, try not to raise your voice even if someone is bawling and shouting and try to be positive. PM me if you want Kronas :)

Re: telephone interviews..........

well its been a rollercoaster ride the past 7 days with my past illnesses coming back to haunt me and are still with me but i am fighting through them.

so wedensday arrived, i arrived an hour early at the interview so i subsequantly filled out all necessary forms allowing credit checks etc

then conforming to a english and maths test, results were shown in the interview english = excellent maths = average put pass nonetheless...

in the interview a 'role play' was devised by the interviewer where i had to sell someone a loan in a sales role and ensure i communicated verbally correctly, and noted all details that are requiered. ( note instructions were not given on 'how' to sell the loan just figures and a basic story outline)

at the end of that, moving on to actual aspects of the interview such as personal experiances of helping people, information gathering, correct information, positive aspects about promotions with other companys which i put forward off the top of my head, from food hygene to mobile phones to food processing to computers, and ofcourse team work.....

there was alot to go through.

in the end the interviewer was 'impressed' by my 'proffesionalism' and my 'off the top of head thinking' she was very suprised that i had done so well considering i have absolutely no experiance of cs or employment, qualifications, my work ethic was balanced as i showed myself as being helpful, freindly, and informative, but keeping in mind a balanced perspective of pleasing the customer as well as taking in the company's view.......

will find out later today (hopefully) if i have got it.

tbh i dont expect to get it, even though i have got this far and have proved to be worthy of the job imo due to what was commented on about my skills.
