I am looking for Admins to take over the running of one of my forums it will be about gaming.
He/She will be responsible for creating the catagories ,forums and getting members to it also for maintaining a certain level of decorum on the site the one rule that i have above all others is no flaming of other members also no links to warez of any kind are allowed.
It will be on a heavily modified version of phpbb if you feel up to the job then please post here with some reasons why you think you should get the job the person i select will be sent the address in a PM at which point they should sign up and i will make him/her admin.

I'll have a go if you have trouble finding others. I don't have any experience with phpbb, but I'm a fast learner.

How about letting us know where the forums are so that they can be looked at, prospective Admins might like to know what they are getting themselves into.

I wouldnt want to do something like this without knowing what I was getting myself into.

I wouldnt mind doing it either possibly, but as Zoombini says could we have a possible look at them? Or the style of the other forums?

I am glad to help, I have a little experience in PhpBB as I used to have a forum that used it. But I cannot code in Php or am too good as skinning the forum. But other than that I could do the Job.

I would need help with getting members however, thats a hard hit and miss type job.

Spot troublemakers
Move threads if in the wrong place
spot off topic posts
Know when to ban or cancel a persons membership.

My own personal (and somewhat 'wacky') approach as to how you should recruit mods/admins for forums (as well as policepeople* and politicians) is too first ask who wants the job/role and then immediately exclude those people and look to recruit from the remaining people ;)

* I aint falling foul of no 'femminist movement' :)

Nope as i said it is a phpbb forum that one is VB ;)

Wayne - you must have buckets of experience in spotting troublemakers and banning them, your forum only has 11 members left ... :D ;)

remember i had that troublemaker with that username (which im not gonna mention because it was of offense to me) i banned him staright away. i also found out that he was with btopenworld, when i did an IP lookup. Oh and as for the 11 members i had a preset Guest account which i deleted yesterday. :)

I know how to set up a forum as you can clearly see but i don't have that many members.

So the person was using a BT proxy server

I think he was actually with btopenworld as an ISP. But i didn't get that far to asking him or them.

I wasn't saying he wasn't a BTopenworld user. Just you need an open mind when doing this. Some people do hide there ip's on the boards by using different proxy's ;)

dont worry persistence pays - off but I am more worried about getting members for the site. Making forums is easy, attracting members? now thats hard.

Woah there! That's a bit harsh and probably not one of the main prerequisites a mod should have? Surely as a mod that would be a last resort following an explanation as to why a post is unacceptable, and only used for the most hardened repeat offenders and trolls. :erm:
