Praying through the internet? Thats a new one on me. I suppose it feels a void, cause a lot of people can't get to church a a specifed time. It would be nice if they get a really progressive vicar to run it. The chaplain at my school was a real nice bloke. Hilarious too. For the catholics, you could do confessions by webcam as well.

Nothing wrong with prayer through the web, as long as the message gets through. Remember, a 'church' is a collective of people, not just a building :)

Don't see the point in that really, seeing as in a Confessional Box, you're meant to be hidden anyway.....

Indeed.

Well, you need some way to interact with the priest. You would point the camera away and just use the mic. I'm guessing merely typing would be a bit too empty for priests/confessees

I don't think you can either, but doing it via webcam with the cam turned away as you suggested....isn't that the same as talking on the phone???

ISTR hearing a couple of years ago about a hoax that said you could fax or e-mail your confessions to the Vatican and get faxed back a message telling you to say 10 Our Fathers in pennance...! :D

rofl ... no, I'm next to him, with the blond hair. Somebody with a halo of rep points though - could only be Stuartbe. Maybe he's a closet Christian, running Bible studies in his shed instead of servers ... :D ;)

I paid the Church of Fools a visit this afternoon. I can only hope the thing is modded a bit more firmly during services than it was while I was there. It was just full of comedians who had clearly decided it would be funny to sit there and shout obscenities and demand proof that God exists.
