Careful, or you'll have Nemesis beating your door down as well as me ... :D ;) I'm from Wirral, the civilised half of Merseyside and the posh side of the River Mersey. :) (So's Nem BTW).

Sometimes called 'woollybacks' or 'plastic scousers' by the good people of Liverpool, but definitely not the genuine article. Thank goodness. :D

my flatmate says he is from the wirral. to me he is still a scouser, i dnt care what he says he still has the accent. u wirral-ites just accept you are part of the scouse collective :);)

it quite obviously is though.... liverpool thru and thru the lot of ya ;)

you try to say you are not scouse just so you can get away from the "bad" reputation is brings, but you live in the same area (i dont care if the wirral is cheshire or merseyside or what, its practically the same...) :):angel:

oh and you can throw any yorkshire insult you want back, il have heard it all before, my flat cap is tight on my head and all that :pp

Oh please no, you had to bring it up... It wasn't just set in Wirral, it was set in Meols, my very own corner of it. The house they used for most of the filming was about 300 yards from my front door. The subtleties of that sitcom were lost on the population at large, unfortunately. Malcolm summed up far too many Wirral people I know rather too well, and as for his mother ... well all I can say is, there really is a Leasowe Lighthouse Preservation Society. :disturbd:

And we are not scousers!! Go ask anyone from Liverpool. Scousers say we aren't, we say we aren't, so who's arguing? :cry:

I think us people from the wirral outnumber the scousers on this forum.
We are not scousers. I live in cheshire, always have done, always will do. We might talk with a slight scouse accent to other people but not to real Liverpool people. Although to be fair, I couldnt convince my mates when I was in the navy. i was always nicknamed scouse. :)

We live miles apart, different counties, different universities, but your flat looks EXACTLY the same as mine did last year. Right down to the brown 'reception' chairs with the material torn and the fluff hanging out, and the girly and car posters on the wall, Oh God i am glad i am out of there!! :) :)
