Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Seasons finally over and I'm expecting a big window, the last few have ended up as damp squibs but given our top clubs poor champions league performance, three out of four having new managers and a bumper TV deal I can see big things happening.
My own teams publicly going for two out of three strikers, Carroll, lukaku or boney which will be potent, can't wait. |

'& summer window' :erm: thanks for directing us
100million avialable to Wenger if he wants it. Monaco are moving early. Barca have done Neymar. Real will want to get Bale done. Quote:

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Lukaku will surely be a loan deal if it happens but Chelsea might want to keep him this season, especially if they sell Torres.
|
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
It doesn't look like they will keep hold of Lukaku. Schurrle is joining Chelsea. They already have Ba. And theres noises of them going big for another striker, Cavani may be?

I'll be watching what Stevenage do over the summer, hopefully they can strengthen their squad to push on for promotion. As long as they don't do what they did last season, start great then fail later in the season and end up nearly in the relegation scrap.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Basel’s Cabral lined up for Sunderland move
SUNDERLAND are believed to have clinched the signing of Swiss midfielder Cabral. Reports coming out of Switzerland suggest the 24-year-old – who has been a key figure for leading Swiss Super League side Basel in recent seasons – has agreed a four-year deal with the Black Cats. Cabral, full name Adilson Tavares Varela, joined Basel from Lausanne in 2007 but has allowed his contract to run down and is now available on a Bosman free transfer. Should the deal be confirmed, the defensive midfielder will become Sunderland’s second signing of the close season with Altrincham’s teenage striker Duncan Whatmore having agreed a move to the Stadium of Light last week. Cabral was born in the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of West Africa but took up an option to play his international football for Switzerland and has been capped at Swiss U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels. He is the cousin of ex-Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes. Sunderland are staying tight-lipped over Cabral but have confirmed to the Echo that so far he is yet to officially join the club. That does not mean, though, that Cabral might not have signed a pre-contract agreement with Sunderland. His contract with Basel does not expire until the end of June, which means he can not sign before July 1 anyway. But he can agree a pre-contract, which to all intents and purposes makes him a Sunderland player-in-waiting. Should Cabral’s move go ahead, it will be another sign of the road manager Paolo Di Canio and owner Ellis Short plan to take Sunderland down now. Both Cabral, and French defender Valentin Roberge who plays for Portuguese side Maritimo and is also available on a Bosman, appear to be deals which are all but done behind the scenes. And when added to the acquisition of Whatmore, it is clear that part of Sunderland’s new strategy is to recruit and develop promising young players. Di Canio wants to add athleticism and pace to the squad, with younger and less injury-prone players. Short clearly wants his money spent shrewdly – though, of course, it does not rule out bigger transfer fees for other players this summer. It certainly suggest that Sunderland want to hoover up some of the best Bosmans around and young prospects at bargain prices – before turning their attention to adding one or two more substantial names. Short does not want to spend big this summer and is looking at a restructuring aimed at getting the best possible value for money. But he will also appreciate that Martin O’Neill was correct when he said his squad was “short of genuine quality” – and the American will know that it will be a struggle to tackle that issue on the cheap. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/...move-1-5714815 |

Rumours are that Liverpool will need to sell in order to buy during this window. We'll see how that holds up. The owners seem to have underestimated the cost of getting them back challenging for the Champions League so they'll need to put more in, so much money wasted on mediocre British 'talent'.
In other news Laudrup has said he might need to sell Ashley Williams who has been linked to the aforementioned Liverpool as well as Arsenal. |

Not buying this Fabregas back to England rumour. Xavi not got long left and he's long term successor.
Expected moves: Navas -> Madrid/City Isco -> Madrid/City Bale -> Madrid Thiago Alcantara -> Utd/City Cavani -> Chelsea/City Baines -> Utd Roque Santa Cruz -> Stoke Higuin -> Juventus Falcao -> Monaco |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Thiago Alcantara could end up anywhere tbh. hot property on a cut fee.
I'd love for Arsenal to buy back Fabregas, 30 odd million buy back clause if reports are to be believed. He wont go to Utd, plus he would cost them too much.. I think again from reports he has a massive release clause. ---------- Post added at 17:48 ---------- Previous post was at 17:31 ---------- Quote:

A) Why would fabregas leave Barca?
B) Why would he go back to Arsenal? B is more absurd than A. It's British paper trash talk because they have nothing to talk about. Fabregas will not be leaving. |

He isn't leaving. End of.
He is the successor to Xavi who is 33 now and his contract until 2016 will probably be his last. Fabregas has an amazing record of averaging a goal and an assist nearly every 3 games. (given that includes sub appearances) |

Rooney to arsenal is crap too. This so called £100m "kitty" is nonsense. It does not mean they can't spend £100m. As it is cash reserves not income. It also means wages need to be factored in. Effectively Rooney on a 5-year deal and £25m say fee would cost £65m. You'd only be able to sign a £20m player with the rest. |

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2013/05/1.gif If Cesc is unhappy at Barca then theres a few things to bare in mind. IF Thiago leaves on the cut-fee clause kicking in then I doubt very much that Barcelona will willingly allow Cesc leave. I doubt Utd will be bidding BIG for him so that leaves one of the oil rich to trigger the release clause or Arsenal of course triggering the buy back clause. |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Cesc isn't unhappy at barca.
Arsenals "£100m" though doesn't stretch far at all as I said. Their wage bill is actually high for the average players they have. They cannot afford to splash out on more than 1 big player. So wringer chooses to buy lots of lesser ones instead. That's why they were unable to offer van persie finances to stay. They will be a feeder club to elite European clubs. I like arsenal btw like a 2nd team to me. |
