I tried looking at the website, I couldn't see it, but I think the offer was open to upto two SIM cards.
|
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Thanks, I'll give them a call when I get in tonight.

I got none as they wouldn't let me have any! I am not angry about it honestly
Oh and in answer to your question yes you can have two :) |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes

Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
yep minutes rollover aswell
i currently have 200 texts left with about a week to go with my refresh date which will add another 300, so i'll keep collecting them for a long time to come as i dont text as much as i talk. lol |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
The maximum texts and minutes you can have available is 600 of each at any time
|
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
I phoned up about the offer and was told i could have two. I only ordered one though for my wife as my contract isn't up for another 6 months with Vodafone. I hope the offer is still on in 6 months time.
:) BTW my wife had to get her phone unlocked before she could use the new sim card. |

I'm using my phone more than when I was on Orange, but still manage to start each month off with 600 minutes and 600 text messages. (Yes, both are rolled over at the start of the month - but you can never have more than 600). |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Thanks for all the answers.. I have one problem at the moment. I can't send a text message out (although I can send MMS). I have put the SIM card in another phone, and from that phone I also can't text.
I checked the SMS message centre number, it was +447958879890 I called customer service, but they said there is nothing wrong there end, but will get an engineer to look at the settings on the network... Anyone else had this issue? |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
I want to go on this plan, however I can only use Orange, 02 and Vodafone!
I get ZERO signal for Virgin and T-Mobile in my area which is upsetting :( |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Not as upsetting as not being able to use my 300 texts.... !!!!
|
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
It's alright as I am on Orange now with 300/600/1,000 free texts depending on how much I top up.
Got 600 this month! No free minutes though :( |

Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Ok Im confused...when you guys say can you get two SIMs...are you talking getting two identical sims with same phone number or two different ones with different phone numbers? I cant understand why virgin would let you have this deal twice for only £10 per month? Can someone clarify what you mean as Im confused - sorry!
EDIT: So to clarify do I get number 1 below or number 2: 1: Sim with mobile number 07777 567890 Sim with mobile number 07777 123456 For £10 per month? 2: Sim with mobile number 07777 567890 Sim with mobile number 07777 567890 For £10 per month? Also do I get a free phone with it as someone above said something bout a free phone. Thanks ---------- Post added at 09:52 ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 ---------- Oh and whats the coverage/receptio like? Thats something I worry about. |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
sniper007, no free phone comes with the £10 deal, but the service is brilliant. The best part of this VM package. Buy it you wont be disapponited.

Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
You can buy a phone at the PAYG rates on the web or from a Virgin Megastore. Any unused minutes and text messages are rolled over to the following month which means you can (as I do) have a maximum each month of 600 mins and 600 text messages.
Oh yes - and migrating from another phone provider to VM is a piece of cake too. |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
can someone respond to /clarify Snipers question re 2 sim card
is it option 1 or 2 and is it 10 or 20 per month tia |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Just to confirm, if I am on VIP at £85/ month I can have a sim with 300mins and 300 text for an additional £10 and the same again for my wife for another £10 =£105/month.
They don't mention this seemingly great deasl in the VIP adverts ! |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
you can get the offer twice i.e. 2 different numbers @ £10 each = £20 a month
i signed up to this offer when it first started back in october (i think) and they were giving free Lobster 575's or Nokia 1111 (i think) but not any more as stocks have run out its an amazing offer for me, because any unused mins and texts leftover at the end of the month roll over to the next months allowance for £10 and its a simple £10 by direct debt . i'd be amazed if anyone network can beat that. i've seen alot of these cashback deals ..but come with abit of hassle |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Your right about the cashback deals. My wifes current contact was cashback but you had to submit each batch of 4 months receipts within 14 days of the date. We missed the first one by a few days and are no longer eligable for any of the cashback. As soon as this contract is over I will switch to this deal. I don't use the mobile much myself but for less than what she pays now we can both have more minutes than she currently gets.
|
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
ye alot of people get lured into these, what appear to be slash price cashback deals, but then often miss the deadlines for bills and thats where they make alot of their profit i guess. My virgin mobile bills and mobile account can be handled online which is very useful.
£10 a month - 300mins + 300 txts and anything leftover that rolls over is fantastic. I moved from O2 pay as you go where i was paying £10 for just the 300txts |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
I dumped my landline in favour of the Virgin Mobile offer
I then transferred my number over from TESCO mobile (O2) to Virgin Mobile, all this was completed within 14 days TESCO mobile couldn't give me the PAC code over the phone, but it arrived in the post the following day I also have a XDA on orange (PAYG) using the credit on this phone for GPRS (orange extra) 16MB for £4 Sadly, the rate for Virgin mobile GPRS doesn't compare, otherwise I would have also dumped orange, and then only need one mobile phone! |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
do the 300 free texts include texting to usa if you live in the uk or will you be charged extra for overseas texts?

Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
found what i'm looking for :)
few questions about this before switch over from orange. Pay Monthly - Viewing Bites is free the duration of your contract. Things like WAP chat and downloads costs extra. is this the case with the £10 sim only too? browsing is free(football scores for example)? 2. Carry over: If your Bundle is renewed on, or changed to a different Bundle (any type, any size) by, its renewal date, any unused allowance in your existing Bundle will carry over to the next month (but not any month after that). If you do not renew or change to a different Bundle by its renewal date you will not be able to use any unused allowance. does that means only the first month your unused allowance is carried over or does it simply mean there will only be a maximum of 600 minutes and 600 texts at any time. so say i don't use my phone for 3 months the maximum will be 600 texts etc instead of 900? thanks for any help |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes

2. yep, 600mins and texts is the max you can have in any 1 month HTH |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
i know i'm being a pain with all these questions but here is another couple-
do virgin actually offer a live football score service like the network '3'? i just put a pay&go sim in my phone and can't find anything that suggests live score service is offered. also it says on the website it costs only 30p for a days use no matter how long your on it. does this apply to the sim only deal or will it cost more than 30p per day? thanks for all your help :D |

Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
i tried signing up to this deal last night and got an instant email from them telling me i was unsuccessful due to credit or something?
i have never been on any sort of phone contract before or had credit cards etc. so not sure how i can have bad credit. they told me to pay 10 pounds to get a credit report online or send for one. |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
Thanks for getting in touch with Virgin Mobile to start a Pay Monthly contract. We're delighted you've decided to join us.
Unfortunately, your application to start a Pay Monthly contract has been unsuccessful. But that doesn't mean you should miss out on the chance to join Virgin Mobile and get great monthly value. If you'd like to know more about how Virgin Mobile assess each application to Pay Monthly, you can. The information we base our decision on is available from our credit reference agency, Equifax. You're welcome to write to them and ask them for a copy of your credit file. That costs £2. Here's their address: Equifax PLC PO Box 1140 Bradford BD1 5US You can also download your credit report online for £9.95. Just visit www.equifax.co.uk and click on 'Enlighten Me'. We'd still love to have you with us so maybe Pay As You Go will be good for you! If you make lots of calls to other UK networks you can use great value monthly airtime bundles. They give you massively discounted minutes and messages to other UK networks. To make topping up hassle free, you can grab an E-top up card, which means you can top up in loads more places than vouchers. Or you can register your credit or debit card and top up online whenever you need to. To take your pick of Virgin Mobile's range of Pay As You Go phones and to choose a monthly airtime bundle, just visit www.virgin.com/mobile Kind regards, The Virgin Mobile team. tried it twice now and got the unsuccessful email. don't know what this credit thing is about as my dad just ordered one with his details and everything went through fine. |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
just got an email from virgin telling me account is setup and giving me my number.
when i login i see this- Here's your balance Remaining balance: £5.00 i ordered a sim only pay monthly and gave them my direct debit details but when u login theres option to add your direct debit details and it also doesn't say anything about the 300 minutes and 300 texts so what is this 5 pounds credit for? is that just a welcome bonus? |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
yeah, dont worry about the £5.00 i had that when i started up

Equifax hold details of credit ratings based on your history and gives out a credit score. Your problem may just that they do not hold any data about you as you never had cards etc. You are then given a low score as no data held to compile credit score. Hope this helps.. |
Re: £10 300 texts 300 minutes
well as my dads was successful i will just use that sim thats coming and pay him the 10 quid a month as his phone isn't unlocked anyway. will save alot of hassle with writing to them or getting these credit reports which i don't even need.
thanks for help |

Does the £10 300+300 bundle include picture messaging (e.g. 1 picture message equals 3 text messages)?
Cheers |
