I am going to have to start making a list now. So far we have got CEOs office, retentions, whoever Zee spoke to and 2nd line who get everything wrong. Zee can you download another 3gb file and see if the speed drops as soon as you hit 10gb. I really want to know just to see who is right.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed

I was just double checking everything and as BenMcr said, there is traffic management on 60Mb 100%.

My speed has been capped down to around 15.65Mb and upload remains unchanged.
I managed to download around 9GB until management kicked in.

Checked the config settings on the modem and still says 60Mb, not sure if thats supposed to change or not, but plain and simple there is traffic management on 60Mb no matter what CEO says or 2nd line support or some lady in customer service.

Just gave them a call and 100Mb isn't due for my area for a little while yet so the lady (who was quite apologetic) said she couldn't do anything for me. :(

Oh well will just have to wait.

your config file stays the same when you are traffic managed.

Kudos to Ben, I think he needs a promotion :tu:

so we know its still a 75% reduction in speed, and the times probably stay the same, and maximum amount of usage in the evening is around 9GB-10GB before traffic management.

Please excuse what is probably a stupid question but over what period is the 9-10gb measured and how long does the reduction in speed last for? :dozey:

Are you sure you won't now be tied into another 12 month contract after upgrading?

they didn't specify that, and neither did i specify that i wanted to get a free upgrade, i just asked i wanted to upgrade my speed to the next highest. So they shouldn't really do that, if they have i wont be happy.
