Talking of which, a few people on these alleged trials have done speed tests and achieve 8.2Mbps downstream, yes? Someone posted further up the thread...

Any indication of the achieved upstream speeds?

That would suggest 512kbps... not bad, if it is just a trial. :)

*On the morning of Tuesday the 1st of November between midnight and 6 A.M,
Service upgrades and network rebalancing across the country will result in a brief loss of service for all customers.* i wonder what that could be... it never usualy effects everyone...!

and a quote from someone on ntlhell

"I heard a little whisper the other day that the 1st of November is going to be the day, just wondered if anyone else had heard anything??"

My ntl installer just sneezed, that means that everyone at ntl are going to get a cold in the next few days.

C'mon people, if you have been keeping an eye on the service status page over a long period as I have (I remember & prefer the previous site design) you'd be aware that the service message in question is posted up practically every month, I've seen it mentioning nationwide rebalancing a few times now.

Besides, the update mentions UBR upgrades & rebalancing, nothing more, nothing less.
