Michigan state court rejects request to block Detroit election certification results

(Reuters) - A Michigan state court rejected on Friday a request by supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump to block the certification of votes and appoint an independent auditor in Detroit, which went heavily in favor of President-elect Joe Biden, Trump’s Democratic challenger.

The ruling is a setback for Trump and Republicans who have been trying to overturn Biden’s victory in the Nov. 3 election by preventing officials from certifying election results.

“It would be an unprecedented exercise of judicial activism for this Court to stop the certification process of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers,” wrote Timothy Kenny, chief judge of the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan, referring to the county that includes Detroit.

The lawsuit alleged fraud and voting irregularities, which Wayne County has denied.

The judge rejected those allegations, writing: “Plaintiffs’ interpretation of events is incorrect and not credible.”

He noted that allegations, such as city workers encouraging voters to cast their ballot for Democrats, were not backed up by details, such as locations or times when such events took place.

CNN: Biden wins Georgia and Trump wins North Carolina. That projection gives Biden 306 electoral votes, same total Trump won in 2016.

Trump to make first public statement for over a week within the next hour

More black people than what ? She succesfully prosecuted the people put in front of her in the court according to the laws of the state that she didn't make i.e. doing her job. Should she intentionally have let them get off ?

Lets hope he finally comes to his senses and realises that he was beaten fairly and squarely in a fair democratic process..

Best not to hope too much Den.
Maybe he's announcing his new golf handicap? He's had plenty of practice this week.

There's nobody at the top of American politics proposing genuinely socialist policies as we'd understand them in Europe. It's just a bogeyman from the political right to shout about the centre-left.

Even if there were the numbers aren't there in the Senate to permit it.

Chair of Federal Election Commission disagrees with you, as does this person and what he said here:

So what do we think he is going to say? Concession or double down?

I am learning towards a concession where he still says it's rigged.

Shared on Facebook and Instagram days leading up to the 2020 U.S. general election, posts show a clip of Joe Biden saying, “We have put together I think the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” The posts falsely ask if the video shows the Democratic presidential candidate “admit(ting) to voter fraud.” It was a slip of the tongue - Biden was describing the voter protection program his campaign has launched in anticipation of potential legal fights over the outcome of the Nov. 3 election against President Donald Trump.

VERDICT
Missing context. This clip of Biden allegedly “admitting” to voter fraud has been shared out of context. As seen in the full interview, the former vice president was discussing his campaign’s voter protection program.

No recount in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's secretary of state has said she will not order a recount in the state, as Joe Biden's margin of victory was sufficiently big not to warrant one.

States often have rules which mean an automatic recount if a candidate's win is within a certain small range - by less than 0.5%, for instance. Georgia is currently holding a recount for this reason.

But Pennsylvania will not do the same. Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar decided not to order a recount, an update today said, "as no statewide candidate was defeated by one-half of one percent or less of the votes cast".

The BBC's results data says Joe Biden is ahead by about 60,000 votes, with 99% of votes counted.

Well you believe what you want to believe - the Democrats are cheaters, have been cheaters in the past and I wouldn't put it past them to have cheated in this one, it's what they are good at, a sorry ass state of a party.
