Well I contacted Disney uk and asked about hd, they said virgin was offered both channels in hd but wanted both channels for less, so while xd is open, Disney channel hd is an unofficial exclusive and If virgin want to pay we will get it

Disney HD, Cartoon Network HD, TCM HD, Animal Planet HD, Eden HD, Good Food HD, Dave HD, Watch HD and Alibi HD are only partner channels with Sky they are not exclusive channels.
Page 7 and Page 21 http://corporate.sky.com/documents/p...sentation_1011

Eden HD, Good Food HD, Dave HD, Watch HD and Alibi HD are coming to Virgin media

A spokeswoman for the broadcaster said it was always in active discussions with Virgin Media and could look at launching Cartoon Network HD on the Virgin Media platform "further down the line

Out of that lot TCM HD would be the one I hope we get, would be really nice to see some 80s and 90s movies in HD.

Well it comes back to that vexed question again and that is do Virgin want to pay the carriage fees in which they are quoted in discussions with parties and in most cases the answer to that is a resounding no as we would have had quite a few more channels by now l suspect.

The problem is were does the money come from for these extra HD channels as VM offer HD for free on XL were Sky charges 10.25 a month giving them more scope to launch new content.

And it comes back to Virgin's HD strategy being very inflexible in its model.

Well they could look to offer a free hd package paid for like m hd free, x hd £2.50 and xl hd £4 and xl hd with sport £11 therefore freeing up revenue to purchase more hd, who agree and disagree

Yes something like these type of packages would enable customers to pick and choose what they wanted and if they did not want to pay for it they do not have to and vice versa as well to those who do want more HD channels.

Vm need to do something soon about adding HD channels or they will lose more TV customers than they did in the last set of results.
