All we know it could be but nothing has yet been confirmed - Sky Basic HD channels are Sky News, Sky Sports News, Sky1, Sky Arts1/2.

? over Sky Sports News - This is kind of classed as a prem channel Sky customers only get this if the sub to News Pack or Sports Pack + HD Pack and I know VM class as a Prem Channel.

I do not control channel launches - the news I get is when they expect to launch - if VM decide to change that then it can not be helped.

All I know is you should be able to expect something next week; I just can not give a 100% date.

Channel numbers - got to be kidding its hard enough getting launch dates before press releases - but Art HD 1/2 could slot into the old Real Lives/2 on 281/282.
Sky1 HD could be a number of choices.

But my understanding and this is something I have learned only recently is VM are not the one's who decide the channel numbers - its a joint agreement between VM and Channel owner - I believe they give them a number of channels numbers and what’s around that channel number so the channel owner can market the channel in the correct location etc etc.

I could be wrong but that’s my understanding of allocating channel numbers

Whatever they do its far better than the mess of channels that is Sky's EPG.

Maybe Virgin will have the following lineup.

119 - Sky1
120 - Sky1 HD
121 - Sky2
122 - Sky3
123 - Sky3 +1?
182 - Channel One
183 - Channel One +1

OR

Keep as now but
182 - Sky1 HD
183 - Sky3 +1

This will apply to all Sky HD channels from October.
ie. Sky subscribers will have to subscribe the Variety Pack and HD pack to get Sky 1 HD.
