The Old Trafford pitch looks a bit of a mess, just watching the live game on Sky 1, it looks like it has got a dose of the measles.

as a Red it's good news to be that Scholes has retired but not that great for England. Think if Sven had played him in the middle behind two strikers then he would still be in the setup.. Playing on the left where you can't do anything was probably why he went..

Noticed the pitch last night as well and wasn't too impressed either.. we used to have the best pitch in the league and now it's abit rubbish. One of the problems is that high stadiums like ours mean certain parts don't get any sun at all

One thing I don't understand is SAF's desire to hold on to 'Donkey' Diego Forlan...I mean come on...in 3 years what has he done? Apart from scoring the 2 goals which beat Liverpool 2 years ago, he's hoofed more balls over the bar than he's put in the back of the net.

I thought I'd heard some rumblings this summer about him leaving Man U (at one point, there was a rumour that Villa were trying to sign him :Yikes: ). TBH, I'd be surprised if anybody in this country would want him - let's face it, he's pretty much a prime example of somebody who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo!

he's meant to be off to spain where i think he will play very well with more time on the ball.. he has plenty of skill just doesn't seem to be able to use it.. he got a great goal against Chelsea and Villa the other year and looked very good in Copa America.. just abit rubbish in a United shirt

7 months for failing a drugs test

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...es/3929691.stm

unless you a Man U player then even though you passed the test you get 8 months ban

Re: [Merged] - Football talk

so Sven seems to have kept his job for now at least.

think the real question isn't anything to do with the affir though but why was he nearly sacked for something he's done away from football and why wasn'tthis hearing about what he has and hasn't done on the pitch

What does he actually do as a coach
He doesn't take any coaching sessions himself
He doesn't talk to the coaches after the training sessions
I get the impression he doesn't talk to the team tactically or mentally before or during a game
The players went on strike to get rid of the diamond system :Yikes: :Yikes: The manager should be deciding the tactics and formations he needs to have strength here
Loyalty to unfit ( Beckham ) or rubbish ( Heskey, Phil Neville ) players
Plays people out of position
Very little tactical knowledge
Barely even watches a game
Negative play
Lack of imagination
Reports claim Beckham picks half the team for him
Lets the papers dictate who should be picked ( Rooney and Alan Thompson )
Overpaid
Disloyal ( Chelsea and Man U jobs)

surely the above is enough to get rid of him

We could have had the sun reports picking the England team and had the same results as Sven, we almost did!!

If the 5-1 against Germany hadn't happened think he woulod have gone by now. He done very little in club management. he won the league with Benfica but there are only 2 teams in Portugal so not very hard.

he nearly bankrupted 2 clubs in Italy and only won 1 title with Lazio.

We didn't play well but to be fair....neither team played a full side of senior players.

But Alan Smith's goal was a corker :D

We were shocking!!! What happened to our defence?

Pity Heinze is at the Olympics, we could really do with him!
Just over a month till Rio is back.

don't read too much into that game.. or even the one on wed's wait till the season starts.. need to get rif of Phil Neville though he gave the ball away for the second goal and was hus usual rubbish self.. plus he got 50,000 for that
:Yikes: :Yikes:

Would rather play with 10 men than bring him on.. No wonder Scholes quit England when he was played with Phil Neville after 60 mins of a match..

Was a rough few weeks there with only friendlies to watch but at least the season is upon us. Just hope Viera goes to Real and then the Arsenal team starts to break up.. remember Ajay in 95 after they won the European Cup could be something similar to that.. eps if Wenger goes and then they have to start fielding English players instead of being the Monaco of London

Pronounced 'Champions', I think you'll find. Not much chance of Wenger going, he's got the best youth team in Europe and a new stadium to get opened the year after next, so United will have to put up with the occasional humiliation, at least until they stop buying nuggets like Bellion and Forlan.

I think the occasional humiliation is a price worth paying to watch us retain our premiership this year!

Retain the Premiership? You're an Arsenal supporter now then? Or are certain events on April 25th this year erased from your memory? :D
