Of course, you can extract more than is offered with a negotiation, but Sky know that they have VM over a barrel here. There is nothing VM can offer Sky in return for a channel they really want, so Sky have the upper hand.

This is why the rumour about VM and BT working together on a new channel is so encouraging, if true. VM and BT could keep the channel exclusive to their own platforms until Sky relented on the channels we want that they are currently hoarding for themselves.

But I do think that if I signed up for MUtv on the basis of that page/email, and MUtv HD did not become available on VM in July, I'd have a very strong case for cancellation/complaint etc. So my guess is that it's a strong indication that it's coming.
