Re: [Merged] Speed Increases 1st June - 2meg to 4meg
I haven't been upgraded. I would rather they didn't bother. It's fine as it is. I have horrible feelings that something will go wrong and/or it will become less reliable.
If it ain't broke - don't fix it. If mine accidentally misses out I shall not say anything. I'm not rebooting it just in case, but I suspect it would reboot itself anyway. Why would I need more than 2mb? This dash for speed is just ridiculous. |

If everyone took your point of view and 'made do' with what we already had, we would still be living in caves. |

Reminds me of the famous Bill Gates quote : "No one will need more than 637 kb of memory for a personal computer." |

The dash for speed is the march of technological progress, it can't be stopped.;) For general web use (browsing and the odd download) I found 2Mb more than enough. Since being upgraded yesterday to 4MB I've realised the only time I'll be taking advantage of the higher speed, is if I need to download a new app. or update. It's nice to see the numbers on the speed test though :) As for the eagerness of the punters to see their upgrade arrive (I was as desperate as anyone :spin:) for me it was little to do with speed. As a Yorkshireman I'm always happy to get summat for nowt. :) |
