Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 1
To be fair to VM they have to balance the costs don't forget not everyone likes sport , the XL pack has to remain priced competively and have a broad appeal.

Instead of a 12/18 month contract, we should be allowed to sign one for a longer period of time, but also receive a bigger loyalty discount.
I'd rather stay with VM and be a loyal customer rather than having to chop and change every other year just to get the best deals. It would also mean VM would be guaranteed to get my money. Ben, what are your thoughts on this? Be interesting to hear from a VM perspective. |

It's not legal for contracts longer than 24 months http://www.theguardian.com/money/201...year-contracts

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 1
Here's a question for everyone, but maybe theone2k10 will be able to respond more accurately. It's £33 a month for TV XL standalone with TiVo, now that obviously gives you a lot of channels, most of which imo are a load of total tosh, and I only watch a handful of what's on offer, anyway back to the question.
Does anyone think it would be more beneficial to drop the Virgin TV package and take on more streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc? It does seem to me that in doing so it would be quite a bit cheaper than the £33 for the XL package, iirc Netflix is approx £6 per month and I'm not so sure about Amazon Prime but I wouldn't think it would be that much more than Netflix. So if you had both of these services at the same time, I'm thinking that it would more than keep you satisfied with the channels that they offer at a fraction of the cost. Thoughts? |

Don't forget Malone was the Cable King in America for many years, owning the largest cable company and other media assets like Discovery and QVC. He didn't hesitate to sell his "beloved" cableco to AT&T when he was offered a whole load of dosh for it. Billionaires like Malone and Murdoch are only interested in one thing, money. Everything else is trivial to them. |

We are fully prepared to jack pay TV in and go with a combination of Freeview, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and NOW TV as an alternative. We're lucky to have all 3 apps built into our Smart TV. You can get all 3 services for less than £17 per month if you shop around. £5.99 for Netflix, £5.99 for Amazon and NOW TV for as little as £5.00 per month if you buy their 5 month pass from Argos for £25.00. What I like is the idea of being able to effectively eliminate your monthly TV bill entirely, if you can afford a 1 off splurge. A one off £79.00 payment gives you Amazon Instant video for a full 12 months plus a years worth of NOW TV passes can be picked up for £60.00. That's £139.00 up front for 12 months of great TV, subscription free! If your worried about missing football, worth considering switching your sim to BT. BT Sports included via their Sports app for only £10.00 per month. BT have confirmed: "If you've got the right equipment at home to connect your PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet to your TV, then you'll be able to stream the app onto your TV. Alternatively, find out more about using Google Chromecast to watch BT Sport on your TV." Amazing deal! http://www.productsandservices.bt.co...ans/nonbb.html |
