Bit odd to call it at a sky sports free weekend when it ends on the sunday morning...but not one to complain... i already have sky sports but refuse to pay for HD channels so its nice theyre becoming free though.

Trust me don't watch it in HD, they will have you hooked as really HD is the only way to watch live sports;)

As everyone's currently talking about Sky Sports I'll point this out in here. Has anyone else noticed the little symbol in the bottom right hand corner on all the Sky Sports channels apart from News HQ. It seems to be part of the broadcast picture as it stays when I bring up menus or go into delay viewing. Is this some sort of new security feature like Sky have on the streams in their apps?

Especially golf. You can really see the contours of the green in HD.

If it looks like this

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2014/08/18.jpg

Then its vm's replacement for the numbers which appeared in the top right

Yes that's it!

Is it going to stay on screen permanently? If so it would be better if it was nearer the edge of the screen.

I haven't seen it myself yet, but I guess its the security feature so Sky/VM know you are watching a legit version of Sky Sports

Virgin Media no longer deal in non domestic television services (Sky charged them so much to retail sport that it became unsustainable and VM withdrew from the market).

So, VM have no incentive to care if someone is using a domestic subscription in, for example, a pub.

I imagine that this symbol is more likely to be a security measure in connection with card sharing.

How do VM know if you have this symbol on your screen or not?
