I got some sunglasses but the store I got it from advised to inspect the packaging upon delivery. Accepting delivery is a form of approval. So now I have had to reschedule delivery for Tuesday. :(

If delivered, then you're covered by distance selling regulations.

Check out the reviews. A LOT of people have to pay return postage, return customs fees, a loss on any customisation.

You either get it spot on or you're screwed

Guess this is one of the few downsides for not being in the EU gang. The customs side of this is an instant red flag do not buy from company . If AliExpress can ship from China with a £10 declaration on it and get away with it why can't they haha

China don't play by the rules. They live a different way. :D

Italy toe the line.

 there is always that fear with reviews, I read some that said they wish the reviews were verified purchases. I won't know until Tuesday when I'm home all day .

For me it is just the risk. I am a bad customer to be honest. If something is not right it triggers me. It is my control issue part of my personality disorder. I am not controlling of others but I like to control my environment and when others disturbs that I get incredibly edgy uptight and anxious. The worry about something not being right and having to deal with the possible customs issues is enough for me to say not a chance mate

Annual GP checkup this morning. She was faffing around with the blood test needle, thankfully not multiple attempts. It was simply repositioning that done the trick. ECG was normal but the blood pressure test around the upper arm was high. I had to refuse further aid. I simply put all that down to being fat which got me a follow up on July 2nd. I was offered jabs :Yikes: no thanks. I'll take the tablets but there not on the NHS yet.

I've seen a dietician and had referrals to my local fitness classes. I don't know what the docs going to say Thursday

Last week I sent two daily BP readings for four days - Sat to Tues - (8 readings total) to my Doctors.

The highest reading was 139/75 the lowest was 116/66

Not heard a thing, which is usual, I may need to change Doctors :D

my 7 day average was 98/64 with a heart rate of 74

My heart rate is generally around 64 to 66, doesn't mean much apart from I could probably outrun you over distance . . if chased by a herd of rabid Yorkshire Terriers :D

Re: Moans and Pet Hates

Doctors solution is to experiment. I was advised to change my eating habits and food purchases. I already know this.

The alternative is to go private for jabs which even my doc said no to. You come off them and you'll go back to your previous ways.

Damn! I'm out of ideas. I find it surprising that there are no boot camps, retreats to escape the vicious circle.

It's Thursday, it's bin day, everyone has their (lightweight) plastic bins out, it's quite windy, the bins keep blowing over, the street is full of rubbish ;)

One hopes that it is Environmentally Friendly skidding and not just half assed blowing in the wind due to cost cutting ;)

It's infuriating trying to remove the backing off Gorilla heavy duty mounting tape. am I the only person that can't do it?

Re: Moans and Pet Hates

Anyone able to help me please...

I have this mattress size double

https://www.silentnight.co.uk/silent...AkajYwJGwwJGgw

I got some deep fitted sheets from vinted, if I sleep on the right... the left side comes undone. Every morning I have to pull the sheet to it's fitting around the mattress.

Sleeping in the middle makes no difference or opposite side. Are my sheets crap? Any recommendations please?

Carth 09-07-2026 16:57

Re: Moans and Pet Hates

You've probably got king sized sheets mate . . vinted

They fit snug. It's during use they come undone. Blooming annoying.

i have fitted sheets they always come off at least one corner, they fit like a glove when you get into bed

Re: Moans and Pet Hates

The sheets I got were bemode branded, their website is interesting...

www.bemode.co.uk

:erm:

I've found a silentnight branded deep sheet on vinted which I've ordered. Only difference is bemode are up to 40cm deep. Silentnight is 28cm deep.

---------- Post added at 19:00 ---------- Previous post was at 18:54 ----------

Oh damn. A 30cm ruler measures top to bottom. I have 10cm to play with which explains it. I thought up to 40cm covers all mattress size in between. :(

If a 40cm deep sheet won't fit you are into the realms of a bespoke make ... mega bucks or just get a king size sheet ... lots to tuck under the mattress.

My 40cm still comes untucked on my 35cm mattress. I ended up using a set of these 'Sheet Strap,Bed Sheet Clip,3 Way 6 Sides Adjustable Elastic' thingies and wonder if they could help either of you. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Auivguiv-To...hlbWF0aWM&th=1

Re: Moans and Pet Hates

Ooo an invention. Problem with that is my mattress is very heavy. It's not easy to lift or flip.

I put a 30cm ruler to the depth and it pretty much lined up perfectly to 30cm so the silentnight sheet I've ordered measuring 28cm might just work.
