Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Hmm, not like you to respond to that!
Sugar coat it any way you like, Arsenal won nothing last year. United won a tournament (albeit not the most successful one) and came runners-up in the Prem (which if you think about it would have meant we'd have won the league that the russian not bought it) which might not be up to our traditional standards but still meant we had a better season than Arsenal - and let's face it that's all that counts! ;) :D |

As for the league cup, I am just not going to talk about it anymore, it's a nonsense of a trophy, there is a reason why you played the mighty Wigan in the final, it's because they are the type of team the tournament is designed for, hence the quarter final the other night, Arsenal reserves against Liverpool reserves, they still treat it with the same amount of respect as you used to |

Neill has insisted his move was not dictated by money. The Australian said: "It wasn't about cash - that didn't come into it. It was about being wanted. West Ham were knocking down the door to get me whereas Liverpool made a take or leave it offer. "People have said I put money before medals and how could I make a sideways move like this and not go to a club like Liverpool, who are always in the hunt for trophies and so much prestige. "West Ham moved heaven and earth to sign me while Liverpool gave me the impression that I might not even get a game if I went there. It sounds reasonable to me, although £60000 a week is a hell of a lot of money for him, looks like Kepo Blanco is about to sign as well, anyone know anything about him? ---------- Post added at 21:32 ---------- Previous post was at 21:26 ---------- Quote:

I suppose it's how you see it but I don't recall many commentators referring to the previous season's Euro runners up

Also when you look at the two clubs, they are poles apart, yes we might be struggling at the moment but I don't remember Blackburn having two 10 million plus bids turned down in this window |

And of course United have something to remember this season by, remind again what Cup are they still in, oh yeah the FA Cup until Pompey put an end to that. :D And unlike the glory hunting United Fans yes I did see the game as I was there at the Emirates. :D Quote:
Although Sir Alex is probably too busy joining the fight to save Burberry in Wales as his Chav squad will have nothing fashionable to dress in. :D Quote:

As you say again a nothing cup and coming second gets you nowhere. :D Last season proves nothing as you lost more home games but were better away from home and scraped two more draws at home. :) Not many teams can say we put an end to Liverpools home games at Anfield with the first team and the reserve team and imposed their heaviest defeat for over 77 years. :D |
Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
When was the last time Arsenal beat United in a Premiership game prior to this season?
I will tell you and save you the bother, 2001 - 2002 season. Five seasons eh !! ....... the pent up frustration is understandable ;) |
