Also it's pushing out Dolby Atmos (available on the Jack Ryan TV series). Nice they got that sorted too. I would hope they'd be able to do the same with Netflix. I noticed the quality was fairly jerky - may need a reboot myself.

Here at Media Boy HQ we got one unknown channel added to "Total Channels" last night.

Also Two "A Message For Parents" channels (Virgin UK Channels 968 and 985) has moved from CO34 to CO70.

Due to them changed multiplex/frequency you will need to re-Add to your Favourites.

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is to rebrand its free-to-air film and entertainment channels in the UK under one cohesive Sony-branded portfolio.

Sony Movie Channel will become Sony Movies

Movies4Men will become Sony Movies Action

True Movies will become Sony Movies Classic

True Entertainment will become Sony Channel

All of the channels will be available on Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media with new cinematic design alongside a slate of new content.

No exact date, just the month of September.

In September, Sony Movies Channel will become Sony Movies and Movies4Men will become Sony Movies Action.

Additionally, True Movies will be rebranded as Sony Movies Classic, switching in the Christmas period to become seasonal pop-up channel Sony Movies Christmas.
General entertainment network True Entertainment will become Sony Channel, which will mix drama and entertainment with a mix of scripted series and gameshows such as Charlie’s Angels, Starsky & Hutch, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Sony Movies Classic, which debuts in January 2020, will draw from the library of SPE’s iconic film studio Columbia Pictures.
i.e. It will launch as Sony Movies Christmas in September then become Sony Movies Classic in January.

Long time coming, aligning most of their channels under one brand (what with the Pop channels thankfully keeping their own branding).

Sounds like Sony Movies Classic will have the biggest change in content, seemingly dumping the TV Movies, except for at Christmas, for its back catalogue of films that got a theatrical release.

I can see SONY axing the POP brand soon.

-POP > SONY Kids
-Pop Max (Or whatever they called it this year) > SONY Kids 2
-Tiny Pop > SONY Kids Jr.

Anyone know if the whole "email CEO and get a phone call from retentions" is still an effective way to get into touch with retentions?

My friend doesn't like speaking on the phone and he's been a customer for 8 years now, poor tv package, outdated tivo and hub so i was trying to see what he could get. they usually call me fairly quick when i email the ceo but having no joy here.

To keep this post on topic too....any idea of any other apps coming to tivo such as wwe network? i'm really liking the amazon prime app. super handy with the search facilitiy.

It's a shame that all the Sony channels are in SD. We would watch some of the stuff on these channels if they broadcast in HD.

Nor here. The picture is not the best on a large screen.

Yes, there seems to be a bit of a tension between their TV arm aiming to sell high-end TVs and their broadcasting arm with its FTV channels. Maybe they will have HD options on some platforms come the Autumn.
