I don't like Googles because there is no password or fingerprint option for unlocking the app other than a phone password.

I'm talking about the Google Authenticator app not having a fingerprint option or password when you open it, has that changed?

Thank you that's new to me, I wonder how long they have had that option.

Edit - August 2024.

Edit - I have Privacy screen on my Pixel phone but not on my Samsung tablet, I wonder if it's another setting somewhere.

What I don't like now is it's easy to accidentally swipe and delete a code if not paying attention which could be a disaster, is there an option to stop the swipe other than a warning after the event? Atleast if I delete from Microsoft Authenticator it won't instantly remove from all devices.

B&Q's website.

All the items I want are marked "not available in store" and "not available for click and collect" and finally "free postage".

So I enter my address and try to order. I get to payment, and it says, "Lost connection; your order might not have been placed".

It's the same result trying to order them individually or all together, and both Paypal and Credit card.

I phoned them and was told "the items might be out of stock..."

Oak furniture land did this to us this week. We went up to the local branch to look at a dresser after the website checked and said it was there. When we arrived it was the only item of furniture in that range that they *don’t* display.
Snazzar frazzar.

On the plus side, we got a family load of dinner out of costa coffee for £3.50 while we were there with one of those apps that tell you who’s selling off mystery bags of food at 6pm. :D

Prior to covid, I had a confirmed order for timber and wood sheeting. It didn't turn up due to "stocking issues". Another date was set. That didn't turn up either due to the same reason.

6 missed deliveries later, I went to their local store and saw loads of stock of what I had ordered. I tried to order it for home delivery but was told "All that lot is for trade sales only, mate."

No chance of getting it all during the pandemic, and after it all settled down, the prices were around 40% higher and still haven't dropped. I fully expect the war in the Middle East to jack the prices even higher.

Printers used to be so simple. Connected to the PC and they worked. Now you need wifi/bluetooth, endless software upgrades, incredibly expensive cartridges. Also have to wait an age before they actually think about possibly, maybe, printing sometime.

One thing never changes, paper jams. No one has solved that one .

This time it's a flurry of texts asking me to fill in an important health survey to keep their records about my general health up to date.

Question one: Do you, or have you at any time smoked regularly?

end of questions.

I don't think I had a collection option but this wouldn't be possible as I don't work from home.

Currently in an Instagram chat with them so let's see how that goes as I don't want to phone up, so if this gets no where I'll be emailing the CEO office if a bill actually shows up.

Ads in games. Bad enough in themselves - especially when (yes, Micro$oft, I'm looking at you and Bubble!) you often get an ad before the game even starts. But when an ad says 'not in-game footage' or 'not actual game play', the only question that springs to mind is:

"In that case, WHY BLOODY BOTHER, THEN?! AT LEAST SHOW THE ACTUAL GAME!!!"

I always thought (probably wrongly) that adverts were simply some kind of wheeze that companies used as a Tax offset or something.

They're also something that TV companies use to reduce an hour long program down to 40 minutes of actual content :D

Nation Radio has loads of tunes to choose from, from the 60s to now. But it's obvious that the same tunes are on repeat, with some songs being just one of dozens of hits that some groups or singers have had huge hits with.

click the link to 'view bill' and instead of going where I should go, I end up an a 'new' VM/O2 place that requires my email (did it) then another email for back up - allegedly.

Now screw this, if VM are locking customers out of their own damn account they can :2up:

Contract renewal May . . go swivel

Ok didn't happen to me but , is it worth the stress saying that this why I hold on to my virgin line , just put home phone on speaker a get on with life.

Looks like I have a slow puncture, I left work at 10pm and got a low pressure warning on a rear tyre so pulled over and checked it. It was 5.5psi instead of 32! So got the electric pump out and filled it up, drove home 15 miles without anymore low tyre warnings and will check it again in the morning.

I'm surprised it didn't trigger the warning at something like 28psi so I'm confused how it got so low and was still able to drive home after filling it.

It's flat this morning so looks like I'll pump it up and try and get it fixed or replaced before work at 1pm. What a ball ache!

Edit
Failed to get it replaced early enough for work at 1pm, I tried to put the space saver on but couldn't release atleast one of the wheel nuts so I'm going to pump it up before work and again after work and hope it will be OK, the cars booked in at 8.45 for a replacement. Worst case if the tyre gets worse I will call the RAC out but don't really want to do that.

Two of mine were near the end of their life and a third was slowly failing (bulge in the wall apparently) so I splashed out today on a complete new set of four - the second time I've changed all four on this car.

Todays is bad IT support groups

On a Facebook group just had a guy advise a chap to slow format an SSD before cloning another disk to it .
Those here that know will see how utterly ridicules that advice is on a few levels

Ironically he posted that straight after I had posted about how so many on that group should not be offering advice

All sorted, there was a large bolt near the edge of the tyre.

I've just had a reply from Bosch saying as the battery appears to charge as it should I need to phone a number to arrange collection but I'm not ready for that as I would need to box it up assuming I still have a box and hopefully they don't need me home for collection.

I eventually sent back my Bosch easyrotak 36-550 last week which was 2 years old, they emailed to say they wouldn't be fixing it and they would replace with the nearest new equivalent, well they sent me a Bosch Advanced rotak 36v-44-750 which is a massive upgrade in performance and far more expensive, it came without a battery but they returned my 36v 4.0mah, so this is a huge win for me and I'm chuffed to bits.

Not getting anywhere on these security questions, they asked what my last bill was I said £0.00, they ask when my next bill date was I said I don't have a next bill date because I've left VM! They now say they can send a letter and it'll take 3-5 working days to get everything updated and this is just to get through security.

They're so hopelessly bad it's a joke.

Every time i instantly reply they then don't reply for another 20 odd mins and they close at 8pm.

I'll try messaging the other chat after work tomorrow.

I'm going to relax as this is what I got from Google AI.

Take Action Based on Tracking Status
If you have a tracking receipt showing delivery: Ignore the text messages. They are automated, and it can take up to 21 days for the warehouse to process the kit and update your account, even if it has already been delivered.

I've finally had acknowledgement for my returned Hub5 and V6 box, from the point of Yodel delivering it to their warehouse it has taken them 1 month to confirm it!

They had billed me £155 and I was preparing to pay it by 20 May then go through the CEOs office to get a refund, but My Virginmedia account is now saying the bills paid.

So it's good riddance from me, the last few months haven't been a pleasure due to your incompetence I shall never return.

Finally Divorced! :D

Apparently alcohol can irritate the gum as its healing leading to "inflammation and increasing the risk of infection.".

I would not be having any until Saturday anyway, so not really an issue.

Had 4 out at once in a dentist under general back in the late 90s. Woke up with my trousers undone and been carried into the waiting room . Apparently I had trouble breathing under general. All I could think when I woke up and for a few days later was Ouch as they had proper stretched out my jaw

There's no screen protector. I was meaning to take the phone and gel protector into town to one of the hundred phone shops but it wasn't obviously a priority of mine

I got the device second hand with outer edge scratches but the screen was well looked after. I'm gutted :(
