Re: Moans and Pet Hates
I use Googles tied to my Google account on my Google phone and when I upgrade it will be to another google phone like this one come from. :-) I hate Apple and do not like bloated 3rd party android manufacturers like Samsung and well all of em who skin it and would need me to visit XDA to find a AOSP Rom for it

B&Q's website.
All the items I want are marked "not available in store" and "not available for click and collect" and finally "free postage". So I enter my address and try to order. I get to payment, and it says, "Lost connection; your order might not have been placed". It's the same result trying to order them individually or all together, and both Paypal and Credit card. I phoned them and was told "the items might be out of stock..." |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
B&Q never have what I go for - even after checking it's in stock and which aisle it's in. They do have shelves full of stuff I don't want though, which I guess saves me money :erm:

6 missed deliveries later, I went to their local store and saw loads of stock of what I had ordered. I tried to order it for home delivery but was told "All that lot is for trade sales only, mate." No chance of getting it all during the pandemic, and after it all settled down, the prices were around 40% higher and still haven't dropped. I fully expect the war in the Middle East to jack the prices even higher. |

Stupid Doctors surgery (again)
This time it's a flurry of texts asking me to fill in an important health survey to keep their records about my general health up to date. Question one: Do you, or have you at any time smoked regularly? Question two: If yes, how many on average do/did you smoke each day? end of questions. Just :grind: off with your 'statistical' bullshit surveys |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates
Well I think that's me done with Virgin Media.
Got this months bill . . £4.80 more than usual click the link to 'view bill' and instead of going where I should go, I end up an a 'new' VM/O2 place that requires my email (did it) then another email for back up - allegedly. Now screw this, if VM are locking customers out of their own damn account they can :2up: Contract renewal May . . go swivel |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
Finally, after much jumping through of hoops and being FORCED to give out my mobile number I can view the bill . . it's wrong as far as I can see . . no explanation (in plain English) of why, so it's a phone call tomorrow with a few questions . . and I'm already in a foul mood with VM so it may not go well
 |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
Not happy, I left VM and I returned my VM kit to them I've got tracking proof that they received it on 14th April but their text message to me just now says a £155 charge has been applied to my account and they will refund it when they receive the kit back! It's things like this that stress me out.
Just logged into My Virginmedia and can't see anything about this charge currently, so I'm hoping that text message was just an automated text by their due date, has anyone else had this experience and it has sorted itself out? |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
Email the CEO office. You should if available opted for collection of your kit. That way you can get them to sign it off on the spot.

I've had a very busy day today, far too busy to spend an hour or more listening to 'elevator' music waiting for Virgin to answer the phone . . so I haven't rang them (yet).
As an extra annoyance, I mentioned to the wife how I was seriously considering changing internet provider . . and got shot down in flames :erm: It seems she is very much against the hassle of change, and is quite happy with what we have . . as she always is until the price goes up an extra £25 a month  My only recourse now is probably to ring, query the bill, then beg and plead (lol) for some discounts when the contract renews in 3 weeks (I also hate being a bloody hypocrite, which is what I now feel like) |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
Ads in games. Bad enough in themselves - especially when (yes, Micro$oft, I'm looking at you and Bubble!) you often get an ad before the game even starts. But when an ad says 'not in-game footage' or 'not actual game play', the only question that springs to mind is:
"In that case, WHY BLOODY BOTHER, THEN?! AT LEAST SHOW THE ACTUAL GAME!!!" |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates
I always thought (probably wrongly) that adverts were simply some kind of wheeze that companies used as a Tax offset or something.
They're also something that TV companies use to reduce an hour long program down to 40 minutes of actual content :D |

Looks like I have a slow puncture, I left work at 10pm and got a low pressure warning on a rear tyre so pulled over and checked it. It was 5.5psi instead of 32! So got the electric pump out and filled it up, drove home 15 miles without anymore low tyre warnings and will check it again in the morning.
I'm surprised it didn't trigger the warning at something like 28psi so I'm confused how it got so low and was still able to drive home after filling it. |

Worst case if the tyre gets worse I will call the RAC out but don't really want to do that. |
