Oh dilli, don't know what to say other than I shall be thinking about you and Natalie and keeping my fingers crossed very tightly hoping that this has been just a warning shot and that you will be back home very soon.

The NHS are doing me proud it must be said :)

The news is I need a heart bypass and I bed to go to papworth hospital for that but as it's too dangerous to go home I'm stuck here at Bedford until a bed becomes free. At the moment that's around ag four week waiting time.

It's doing me enormous favours. And in relation to some people I've met in here it's indeed pretty trivial stuff.

I have far too many DVDs & Blu-Rays.

To the point if I started watching on Jan 1st at midnight and watch 24/7 I would finish on June 19th at 00:54.

Only another 6586 minutes until I hit 250,000 minutes (That's just the basic programme, and doesn't include extras)

Sorry to hear that Dilli. I wish you and your family my best wishes and to stay strong at this time.
We have been in a similar situation as our twins were sent to Kettering as our local hospital had no beds/cots. It's miles away from our local hospital and waiting times are weeks.
I do hope it all gets sorted out soon for you.

Just broke into my neighbours house as they had locked themselves out when the door slammed, i never thought it was so easy getting in with just an old RAC card! Maybe they will lock the door with both locks in future now.

Let's hope so Snoopz.
I remember my first house/flat that had a Yale Latch and I never used to use both locks that was until I locked myself out and a kind neighbour did what you did Snoopz only with a bit of flimsy plastic after that I always used both locks as I was really shocked at how easy they got the door opened.

We have a deadlock as well as a 5 lever mortice on the front door and we lock them both whenever we go out. It's too easy to spring a simple Yale lock.

Insurance grade 5 lever mortice locks on both our front door and porch doors, not to mention high security double locking Yale rim locks on both and 6.4mm laminated glass in the porch. Can't be too careful... :erm:

My happy thought? Well I've just spent the evening in a local club for teenagers with special needs of one sort or another. It's amazing to see them coping with their disabilities, getting on with eachother and displaying their various personalities and talents. Some of these kids can do the most amazingly detailed drawings, it's quite staggering. :)

Sadly we hope that life runs smoothly Mark but sadly life can have its harsh moments sometimes and that's when many need the support of their family and friends to pull them through those moments.

see - cast free :)

And family and friends are so very important, so many people are supporting me it's quite humbling. But it does make me feel guilty for putting people out.

Anyway tonight was a much better night, look at the time - 5am, means I managed a fair bit of sleep.

So thank you all and I promise to try and post my ups and downs less, i know it's boring for many but it helps as I see CF as a major part of my life and really do like most people in here :)

My happy is that I'm going to spend a little money and freshen up the PC: Going to max out the RAM, change the main drive to SSD and add a big second drive for data storage. Started downloading some 1080p films and the existing 200G drive suddenly feels very small now.

Probably because it is the old British thing: never complain and never explain. Personally, I find if you ask nicely to see what can be done you get a lot more help than those who call and demand stuff. Damien is a good example, he called to cancel and without any prompting they offered him a good deal. But I bet if he had gone through and demanded that they cut the price whilst not cutting any of the access they would have told him to take a hike.

Same with Virgin, cut down a lot of stuff the other day as £98 was a bit steep and ended up with a price of just over £77 a month by dropping services that are never used. Apart from SKY 1 and FOX in HD don't watch any of the channels in XL package. Movies went as well, watched 1 since Christmas so wasn't worth the money. And went from Talk Unlimited to Evening and Weekends. Quite happy.

They originally offered to give a discount on my existing subscription bringing it down to £18/19 a month so might be worth a try.

So happy my mum is safe after her vanishing act yesterday. So worried at the time but so relieved now.

Went out for a walk around 2pm and we found her about 10.45pm! Had walked from Rutherglen to goodness knows where and found walking about Baillieston.

She has severe Alzheimer's, normally she is ok walking on her own, but this is now the second time in weeks so supervised walks only from now on as well as a gps tracker.

Glad she's safe

Have you thought about a GPS tag device so she can be found quicker.

Some argue about privacy issue but they can do one.

Dodged a bullet on my Focus yesterday/today.

Noticed yesterday morning on the way to work that the heating in the car wasn't working (only cold air coming out of the vents, but no warning lights showing).

Popped the bonnet before setting off home, and found that there was no coolant fluid in the collar overflow rank - sub-optimal.....

Managed to take the car to the local Ford Garage (where we bought it from just under two years ago), and they took it in to check it today. It turned out one of the hoses had become brittle and split, and leaked the coolant fluid.

The garage said lucky that I had taken it in, as there was no damage to the engine (1.0l Ecoboost), but if it had been run much more without the coolant, a replacement engine would have been required.

Broken hose replacement free under warranty vs new replacement engine at three thousand pounds - phew.......

That is a lucky escape. My Nan was worried, thinking she would need to ask my mum to help buy a new car because even though she had the part replaced that needed replacing (the catalytic converter bit had cracked and needed replacing) there was still a humming noise. Mentioned at her MOT in January and mechanic said oh that's a wheel bearing. Replaced that day. She was so relieved.

My thoughts exactly. It's nice to hear when the less of the two evils go in ones favour.

Managed to knock 45 seconds off my 5km PB yesterday. Still had a bit in the tank going round so hopefully a sub 20 is looming.

Just been sitting outside at the front of our local in the sun having a couple of pints each. Though the temperature's only 8 C T-shirts and jeans. :)

Lucky escape indeed. :eeek:

You have to wonder, though, how a hose could become so brittle in just a couple of years. I wonder if this is a known fault.

Yes, in Stevenage this morning when the wind wasn't blowing, it was lovely and warm in the sunshine.

My youngest son has shocked me today by asking me if I could get him not one Valentine card but two, his big brother thinks the reason behind him asking for two is that he is going to send one to himself. I must admit that comment made made me laugh so that's my happy thought.

No steam.

The Ford garage Service department checked it out, and said 'No damage'.

Good news. Out of interest, I did a search and couldn't find any evidence of a known problem.

They said one of the pipes from it had become brittle and split.

While there was little water in the car, there would still have been some (depending on which pipe had failed).

Also, I know older Focus models had a cylinder head temperature sensor, which would detect overheating totally separately to the cooling system, and would put the car in to "limp home" mode before engine damage could result.
