My happy thought, doorbell goes, it was our (batchelor) next door neighbour half way down the path, having left 2 ltr milk and loaf of bread on our doorstep, this is the second time he has done this and won't accept payment. He has offered to get any groceries we need. How kind is that? :)

PS I gave him homemade rhubarb crumble and cottage pie.

We went to our local large Lidl at 8am this morning. Did full shops for 3 households and the only restriction was on Paracetamols. Most of the shelves were full, only item we didn't get was flour.

There were only a handful of shoppers, every one was keeping their distance but we were still glad to get home, the stress got to both of us. Think this will have to be the last shop we do, just wish I could get a slot with one of the supermarkets.

People are really kind helping each other, What would we do without good neighbours and friends.

Pretty well nigh impossible Jo as most supermarkets delivery slots go to 3 weeks ahead apart from Asda who are only showing slots up to 2 weeks (Now changed to 1 week).

Waitrose and Sainsbury's are prioritising their most vulnerable customers but that only helps a certain percentage of the elderly and vulnerable group.

There are no slots with any of them in our city and even the click and collect option seems to be all booked up as well as far as the eye can see.

Someone said they put any new slots on just after midnight but whether that is the case l don't know.

It's true for Morrisons.

Wife said Sainsbury's had some weekend slots free but we are managing with multiple visits to Sainsbury, Aldi and Waitrose. She also shops for a friend with Asthma and a family with 3 young kids that are isolating. (One child has/had heart problems from antenatal. Seems OK now but don't need to risk it.)

I like that getting the paper first thing in the morning there's a complete absence of traffic noise and you can clearly hear the various birds singing. :)

As you may no mum is now in a nursing home as she was left paralysed by Covid-19 and not been able to see her for 4 weeks.

On Thursday I took some clothes to the home for her as all she had was a hospital gown, but as there is building work going on I was unable to see her.

My sister saw her yesterday, she was on the phone to me in tears as she was allowed to stand outside like me.

Today I took some magazines for her and the care home, let me stand in the doorway of her room and speak to her for 30 minutes, boy was it emotional.

When I got home I upgraded her phone contract (which I got for both my parents) as she was eating the minutes and data, so now she has unlimited Text & calls and 2GB of data.
