BBC Olympics 5 - SD channel 575
BBC Olympics 6 - SD channel 576
BBC Olympics 7 - SD channel 577
BBC Olympics 8 - SD channel 578

Interesting. The BBC Blog lists the channel numbers but doesn't state which ones are HD. It does, however, indicate that Sky & Freesat will make the HD versions available on the lower EPG numbers, suggesting that Virgin Media will use the lower set of numbers for SD.

I wonder if a516digital has another source of information or if it is just guesswork.

Could this suggest that Universal Channel HD is finally launching on Virgin Media, in time for this new series?

We don't have that channel in HD!

It was episode 1 & 2 I was watching! At least I presume it was 1 & 2 because although it said the length of the on demand program was 45 minutes I was up to 55 minutes when I stopped watching.

Similar, my wife and I settled down to watch the first episode of this as we were really looking forward to it after reading positive reviews etc, but guess what? yup you've got it " VOD is unavailable at the moment, with a code number 6096 at the bottom" please try later, so we did, 15 mins later, same scenario, 20 mins later after 2nd try, yup, same scenario, 1 hour after last try, and again, same scenario. VOD from Virgin is a complete friggin joke, what do we pay them for? Their service is fast becoming a farce, and we the customers are being royally ripped off!
Why publish a service that you cannot provide, and at the same time expect people to pay for it, it's totally unacceptable and a complete mess!

At my previous address I had VOD problems for nearly 2 years, if I could get a competent engineer out they said it was due to the amount of splitters being used in the green box, basically lazy installers.

Just had a thought, when my5 takes over from Channel 5 +24, there's nothing to stop Viacom from adding programmes from Spike, 5USA and 5Star if they wanted to.

This would also be a way for Viacom to get Spike programming onto VM at no extra cost.

New rumour and source to us VM are in talks with Netflix to offer Netflix original content on vm on demand.
Not sure if this is true or not but in the USA and a few other countries Netflix original content is on other services for example el rey show from dusk til dawn the series.
We will keep you all updated with any further info we find out but we think it's a 10% chance of happening.
