It's annoying but just set the DNS servers on your clients and override whatever DHCP sets.

there are quite a few problem with the superhubs which is to be expected when it only been out a few months and wireless signal strength is one of them in my case anyway

A somewhat off the wall question, but what wireless chipset are you running?

Any update to this? Thanks.

They should all know it, and it is in the 30Mbit information

I doubt those lower tiers will last for much longer as your ceo has stated last year he wants to be in a situation where vm offer 50/100/200 tiers in the not too distant future with a possible top tier of 1gb as a goal.

When you say "they", you mean vm customer services? So, vm have agreed not to charge £30 for those of us who already have a superhub?

Yes, although not sure 'agreed' is the right word. It's been part of the 30Mbit product from launch. If you have a SuperHub (or VMNG300 modem) then you don't pay £30 as you already have compatible kit

You sound like you're looking to chalk up a victory for consumer campaigning ... but don't, because the fact that people with a superhub should not be charged the £30 was trailed in this thread some time ago (shortly after the accidental not-quite-launch of the web page, IIRC).

I don't believe VM has ever intended to charge superhub users for this uplift. Their communication on that point could have been clearer of course.

The signal strength on my superhub has been perfectly fine, no issues at all.

And yet they still are charging £30 for those with a suoerhub and even sending out leaflets saying this too. I got mine yesterday.

Are they explicitly stating that superhub users do have to pay, or are they simply failing to say that they don't?

So what is the supposed range for the alleged SuperHub, my existing let me connect in the garden (nice to sit on patio with laptop working in the summer) which is around 20 or so metres from router with 2 walls in between. I can still get wifi access on my mobile in the greenhouse which is around 40 metres.

Only those who want 30mb straight away. If you're prepared to wait it will be free. 4 to 6 weeks has been quoted for the wait, but who really knows.

Who's the chipset maker? If its a built in Aetheros chipset I'd recommend checking you have the most up to date WLAN driver for your device.

thats false advertising by virgin media.

it clearly states "and all at NO EXTRA COST"

so, i ring up, letter in hand, saying no extra costs, but im expexcted to move off my retentions deal and pay £30 activation.
