He got his provisional in today atm we are looking for a run around for him that he will buy with his own money, as he has saved nearly £2000 plus he will insure it in his own name - although we have agreed that we will pay the 1st years insurance, road tax plus get him a few lessons.

We did the same with his BB and he seemed to appreciate his car as he bought it. Plus it is not good imho to get everything handed to you, help your kids yes but also teach them the value of money.

I don't think my Dad knows just how happy he made me feel today as he phoned my youngest this morning and wished him a happy birthday, trust me this is a 1st and a memory that I will treasure forever my youngest running in my room and telling me that his Papa wished him a Happy Birthday :) it really is the simple things that make a huge difference to your day.

I'm just about to leave to visit my Dad now with his Herald news paper and bits and bobs.
