Personally, I'm not fussed about Netflix on Tivo. I use a relatively cheap streamer to do the job. Using that in conjunction with Unblockus, I can access all the Netflix regions, giving much more content; I wouldn't be able to do that on a Tivo Netflix app.

I think it would be a good addition, but with so many devices now able to access Netflix, they may have missed the boat. They probably should have done it shortly after Netflix launched in the UK, if they were going to do it.

It was a comment from Mike Fries at last weeks Cable Congress - this is the link?

The comment isn't, on the face of it, the opposite of Neil Berkett. Just because Fries doesn't want to run a company in the same way as Netflix, doesn't prevent him offering Netflix's services via Tivo.

BTW, the Tivo Netflix app (the new one released last May) is regarded as one of the better ones, if not the best Netflix app.

Millionaire's gone so I assume the contract with appalling game company has expired.

Nope, but personally can't see it happening.

It makes sense in the US where the TiVo required to run it costs at least $249 + $14.99 a month

VM TiVo is a lot less than that. In fact you can get a 500GB TiVo for the same price as the TiVo Mini - £50 install

Presumably, because they are rubbish, of course! ;)

Does everybody have a noisy TIVO or is it just me?

Mine is a 1Tb version. Noise comes from two locations.

1. The TV card sits loosely in its slot. It vibrates with a really irritating buzz. I have dampened this with a bit of Blutac, but this only works for a while.
2. There is an annoying hum from deep inside the unit. This gets amplfied by the wooden furniture it's on. I've partially solved it by placing foam pads under each foot.

I had hoped a TIVO box might be better quality than some VM equipment. Apparently its not.

No, mine is whisper quiet. I very occasionally hear the chug of the hard drive, but only if it isn't on, otherwise the noise of the TV easily drowns it out. The idea of your smart card sitting loosely seems wrong - I'd give them a ring if I were you.

Bang it on the top, stops the grinding.

Also ain't it about time that TiVo had a firmware update? It still is a bit sluggish for me.

Did anyone see this in the VM forum ?

http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/product-f...oid/index.html

Looks like the VM Android app may not be too far away.

Wouldn't infer too much from that the US TiVo Android app has been available since the middle of last year.
