I DO remember this program, vaguely - well, the BBC adaptation anyway. Had no idea it was a game though.

Once I noticed the 'thing' I couldn't get the 'War Of The Worlds' out of my head.

Yes and if I hadn't we'd still be here at christmas.

I have one more obscure one - but I'm having trouble getting the screenshot to take properly, my original gameboy isn't all it once was :(

Hurrah, I knew someone would know it. It IS Gravity Power. Fantastic game, unfortunately 2 player only and no one ever wanted to play against me - too busy with Sensible Soccer and Championship Manager...:dozey: Voted 2nd best Amiga game ever by readers of Amiga Power. Gravity Power was the third incarnation of the Gravity Force franchise and was free on a cover disk of Amiga Power.

I wish they'd release an online version for XboxLive Arcade. It'd clean up, but the original makers aren't really too bothered about reviving the thing - there are loads of versions available - I just use the original version on an Amiga emulator, but still no one will play with me.

OK.
Showing my age here, this was the first video game I ever played in an arcade.

Wow, that is an old game, looks quite good though considering - they were clever back then with the superimposing technique. I also liked the games that were in tables. I'm going to get me one of those one day...

No idea really, although I'm sure I played something similar on my cousins' BBC once. It was called something like 'Quick Draw' or 'Pistols At Dawn' or 'Gunfight'... I really am just guessing here.

Re: whats this screenshot from?

Pretty sure it was called "Boot Hill".

My cousin had the Arcade table version.
