So if the figures are valid, how can it be based on lies?

Hugh, where does it says "based on lies"? I cannot find the phrase in the BBC post I linked.

I am not sure what your argument is here? The BBC was reporting that the well-known Left of Centre Newspapers, The Sun and The Times, had concerns over Dave's claim of 70,000 rebels.

I was responding to TheDaddy's post, which you quoted.

The figures aren't valid, if there was a rebel army of 70000 they'd have been eating out in Damascus by now. Last I heard about the moderate forces they were selling their weapons to isis plus the odd captured westerner and if the figures are valid why are they soiling themselves about it

Not sure how that can make any sense, seeing as 40-50,000 Kurds are not included and they aren't making an impact.

The main problem is that they are all too busy attacking Assad instead.

Kurds won't leave their so called homelands to fight plus Turkey is attacking them

Last thing we need is a lecture from bliar, without him there might not even be an isis

This is a war that we will NOT win. Our brave guys and girls are going to a fight a war against ISIL.

What about the people in this country, who will protect us against terrorism. Its pretty frightening walking through a town centre, especially at this time of year.

Terrorist have the prefect place, town centres packed full of people. MPs will soon be on there Xmas hols. And joe blogs not knowing what will happen.

ISIL have already threatened that IF the UK plays any part in the war, we will be hit

We're already hitting ISIS in Iraq and have been for some time.

If you're more worried about being the victim of terrorism than being mugged, run over, or even hit by lightening then you have a screw loose.

By your 'logic' we'd never have fought the Nazis because they would have hit back. Their bombers and rockets hit London and many of our major towns cities, did we just give up?
