well that may well be so but it is putting me in mind to quit before the first month is up. Such butchery is inexcusable.

Anybody not like the Netflix app or update? Any issues or bugs?

I got it this morning - the menu performance is a bit choppy compared to other mediums (PS3 specifically), but otherwise it does what it says on the tin, really.

I've not tried Netfix, but after the update and in the OnDemand section, when you go down a list it no longer displays info on the highlighted show to the right (under tivo logo) you have to select the show to go to the next page to see the info.
The rest is great.

You can select high contrast guide/info bar which turns them black instead of red.

Question: You can now select 1080p pass through only. What does that mean?

If the source is 1080p, the TiVo can pass this through as 1080p to the HDMI. But it can't upscale lower resolution sources to 1080p.

At the moment Netflix is the only 1080p source available.

Thanks for the info.

What suggested that you needed a high broadband speed to use Netflix on your PS3?

Via your TiVo, you are accessing Netflix via the TiVo's onboard internet connection, which is only 10Mb.

always had trouble getting a decent speed to my ps3 via whatever method i tried

only way i could be certain netflix would be smooth was to bump up the connection, dont need to do that now

Re: TiVo Update / Netflix

My Tivos are a lot faster, typing in search and the results are super fast.

Now the Discovery bar is only 4 "squares", I have not seen any ads on it.... yet. I do kind of miss the old Discovery bar as I used to scroll along it and get ideas, although the new one seems to refresh itself which is still good.

I have 2 Cisco and 1 Samsung. The Cisco boxes seem to be connecting to the network more? Up to now they are connecting every 4 hours or so, if this is the case it might help with channel schedule changes.

Hasn't the Tivo got dual core thingys? Has the second one been activated to make it faster?

I think I saw a post saying that was part of the upgrade; to connect every 4 hours.
