McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has been excluded from qualifying at the Spanish Grand Prix after stopping his car out on the track at the end of qualifying.

Hamilton qualified on pole but will start from the back of the grid.

Hamilton was told to stop because there was insufficient fuel in the car for him to get back to the pits and provide a sample, as required by the rules.

The stewards rejected McLaren's argument that not putting enough fuel in the car was "force majeure".

Its because its Lewis, if it was another driver it would have been overlooked, by another driver i mean Vettel or Alonso or Shumacher

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

From what i saw on BBC and read didnt they tell him to stop as they thought it was a technical issue and Lewis didnt know why he had to pull over

yeah, radio from the team said stop the car. it did sound alarming so whos fault was it? the team, Lewis or both? you cant blame the officials on this one, its 1 massive balls up by team McLaren

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

I agree but its a bit harsh to penalise Lewis that much for a team error

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

agreed still he should have the brains to pull up on the outer parts.

was there anyone within that sector going full whack?

McLaren really have to sort things out as this is the 4th or 5th balls up they have made this season and in the process they have probably cost Lewis Hamilton 30 to 40 points in the process as well and in my mind the buck stops at the top and Whitmarsh really has to start getting his act together and sorts out these amateurish errors being made by the McLaren team.:td::(

If it gets any worse they could end up being a team like HRT, pants

If he had "accidentally" spun, he would still have pole...honesty is not always best policy

Oh and did i forget to say that HRT should be thrown out of F1?
