I appreciate your position< however I entered into an agreement to buy services over an 18 month period.

I do not like sharp practice & if price does increase, I will simply cancel subscription & dd. I am just not the kind of person who allows this to happen.

Thx

You can certainly cancel your contract due to the price increase but I suggest that that is probably cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Please don't cancel your DD before having agreed that you have cancelled your contract with Virgin Media.

If you cancel then you can only come back after 90 days by which time the price may be dearer as your deal may not be available.

As above do not cancel a Direct Debit unless your cancellation of the contract is agreed as that can cause more problems with regards to your credit history.

Thanks everyon, VM staff members included,

I am awaiting confirmation from VM with regards to the credit.

With regard to nose, face & spite, etc etc.

It is simply a matter of wanting what I aggreed to for the period I agreed to. Too often in this country we allow business/government to walk over us & do nothing except whinge about it in the pub.

Perhaps if more people took there business elsewhere, things would change & they would not need to whinge & whine about new customers getting better deals.

Virgin have just confirmed that I will be credited for the remainder of my contract.

Pick up the phone guys if you are still under contract, & if your contract is at an end threaten to leave.

Hi,

I've only just noticed the increase in my bill today and I too am a bit peeved. The reason I've not noticed this: I've never received any notification e-mails. Is there a legit reason for this? E.g. I chose paper notices from the start? (I get so much junk they could've been binned). I've checked my mail history and I don't see aything other than a few junk mails and bill notifications from VM.

If not, then I think I may have a case to have this increase recinded?

All responses gratefully received,

Catman

You can certainly discuss with Virgin what options you have. You still have the right to cancel for up to 30 days after you recieve the bill with the increase on it if you are in contract if that's what you wish to do

No one likes increases but sadly it happens. The V.A.T increase isn`t virgins fault and they don`t gain anything from it. You have to tailor your services as you can afford.

Phone line increasing AGAIN by 91p in a couple of months.

No idea how they justify phone line increases like this, I guess they're trying to claw back some of the money they're losing to mobile phone usage or something?

Virgin will just say we're keeping in line with our competitors. pity they don't realise that money is tight for some people at the moment.

but if they are being charged more, then I suppose they have to pass the expense onto their customers.

Re: Virgin media price increase

Difference being though, for any customer with a BT line they're almost certainly using it for their broadband / Sky subscription too, so it's serving a more proper purpose, and also I'd imagine external BT lines etc require more maintenance than an underground copper pair like what Virgin use.

Though you're probably right, it still sucks!
