That didn't actually say it was renaming to Five USA though - it just said it was being rebranded, which was known a while ago yes. The Five US name change to Five USA is new though.

We do not have Eden +1 even when Virgin Media owned 50% of it.

Been watching that new channel today, and its been the same program running on a tape, thought they would have made it more interesting, a bit disappointed really. Just as well they never gave us it +1
Cheers, Smudger.

BSkyB launches high-definition TV push

Any hope that Virgin will step up their move to bring new HD channels to us?

BSkyB launches high-definition TV push
-------------------------------------
FT January 28 2009: BSkyB is slashing the price of its high definition set-top TV box in a bid to take advantage of the “significant opportunity” emerging in HD, as it reported interim results ahead of expectations.

The broadcaster said on Wednesday it was cutting the sale of its Sky+HD box from £150 to £49 in an effort to capitalise on a growing appetite for high definition products.

“Following a sharp increase in demand during 2008, we now see an attractive opportunity to invest in further accelerating the take-up of Sky+HD,” BSkyB said.......

according to this link

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=980740

Sky only have about 700,000 HD subscribers which is very little take up at all so you can see why VM aren't exactly throwing money at HD.

Maybe if VM could market the V+ and it's upscaling better they could get more subscribers and then they might be able to go into the HD market further

Because of big trees being between my house and the satellite I cannot get Sky but if I could then I'd ditch cable in a heartbeat and sign up to that cracking Sky HD deal.:(

Virgin need HD channels quickly and then to continue adding them.

the point is virgin dont need to add them, of the hd channels i say 4 or 5 are true hd channels and even then there aint much content on them that is true hd for the others, the hd picture quailty is only seen by a minority who can tell the difference majority of people cant. if you hd that much why want sky not move since tv is obviously your primary concern

If vm got discovery and nat geo they are both full time channels where everything shown is hd,for those that cant tell the difference with hd then need their eyes testing or their tv setting properly my sis in law came up a few weeks ago and she is no expert and she could see the difference straight away.
