Barcelona might not be the only thing Spanish to haunt Liverpool this week. I've heard Ayoze Perez may be fit.

Salford is another souless Mancunian team with rich hobby owners and plastic supporters. Good luck Eastleigh or Fylde !

FCUM is the only genuine football team in Manchester with real supporters. A very nice day out too and they usually let you win :)

Re: Season 2018/2019

Interesting take on the Son sending off. Son goes into a challenge and gives a way a foul but rather than push the challenging player he gets up and shoves Lerma who then goes down clutching his face despite being pushed in the back.

All a bit confusing until you skip back to just after the challenge and see that Lerma infact attacks him first with a sly elbow to the back.

Naturally Son's card will likely stay but you absolutely have to look at a potential retrospective ban for what's basically the same offence. If not then then Lerma should be brought up on deception of a referee and thus face a 2 game ban instead.

Was out last night so missed the late game. Stopped watching United at half time. I am undertaking a major refurb of our back garden. First job is digging 25 2ft deep post holes in very hard, rocky ground to support a 4 metre square area of decking. Seriously hard work even for a youngster like me but not as hard as watching that match.

Re: Season 2018/2019

Incredible result but the greatest champions league comeback? Barca themselves recovered from a 4-0 drubbing by smashing PSG 6-1 in the return leg. I mean Liverpool overturning a 3-0 defecit in a single half of football surely ranks above it too. I get the result is incredible but sports journalism is rife with sensationalism headlines until the next thing comes along at which point they just retcon anything they'd previously written.

Liverpool great going forward but honestly it was like the first leg with switched sides. How Barcelona didn't score is up there with Liverpool failing to score in the first leg. They cut Liverpool open time and time again and I'd say that's just Barca but they were just as fortunate to leave Newcastle with 3 points when it should've been 0.

If Ajax win I still feel Liverpool could run riot over them depending how Ajax set up to play. If they try to defend and soak up they'll get hammered. If they attack Liverpool we'll see a top end to end final.

Also, Andy Robertson should've been sent off in the opening minutes. Suarez up to his filthy ways too. Guy kicked out and took swipes twice. The purpose of VAR once again making itself unclear but it's alright because I'm fairly sure Messi dived and scored the resulting free kick in the first leg so aye Karma is a shame. If Man City had lost to Leicester I'd begin to question whether dark forces were at work here. But ultimately I'd rather have Liverpool in a final than Barca and if it comes to that I'd rather have Liverpool win it than Ajax. If its Spurs vs Liverpool I'd just be happy an English team won it.

I've been thinking about that one and i'd say it's at least on par with Istanbul and the Barca PSG result. Bearing in mind two out of three of our first choice strikers were out and Barca had rested their entire first team over the weekend it was an incredible result. Still pinching myself

Just saying we need to get it into perspective when we talk about 'English' teams. I have to put the subtitles on to understand any of the managers in the Premiership. God knows how the half time team talks work in several different languages!

Its a luxury to choose now given they're both English. Happy scenario for a neutral but must admit now I'd rather see Spurs win their first than Liverpool win another. Again though that's more to do with the fact it'd be Spurs first. Same reasons I wanted to Chelsea to win it against Man United. They'd later go on to win their first in 2012 though against Bayern.

The allocations for both finals are hilariously bad.

There should be an absolute minimum of 25,000 seats each. I also feel like selecting a host venue would be much better after both teams in the final are confirmed, Wembley, Cardiff, Old Trafford, Emirates, St James' Park, Ethiad Stadium, just a handful of stadiums in the UK capable of hosting these finals on a week's notice at more than half the cost to fans, plus who doesn't want to see the SportsDirect@ChampionsLeague.com final. The Europa League final is even worse. I might have read incorrectly but was seeing allocations of 6000 each in a 60,000 seated stadium. :erm:

Tottenham stadium hosts the Europa League final and Old Trafford hosts the Champions League final. It really isn't that hard. This is solely down to whatever the host nation lined UEFA's pockets with. Silly sponsorship deals and broadcasting rights that again suit them and not fans.

The only people to lose out by changing the locations are Spurs fans and they'd be losing far far less than they currently will.

Local and chain businesses can't be forgiven either. Cashing in at maniac prices. Isn't even just football, the rugby champions Cup is in Newcastle today and hotel prices are close to £400 a night for £50 a night hotels that are basically dumps.

Then there's those buying tickets with intention to resell. The thought of a champions league ticket going for £5,000 a ticket, add another making it £10,000 and set aside another £1000 at least for travel and accommodation. An excellent condition Focus zetec anyone that barely a year or two old? Or a season ticket for the next 12 years. Tickets should be resold in the same format as those Ed Sheeran ones were. Face Value on a single legitimate website and tickets sold elsewhere are invalid.

Re: Season 2018/2019

People will already have got tickets for the respective finals on general sale though. As well as the 'football family' there will be neutral tickets, often designed for the locals, already purchased.

If Arsenal and Chelsea feel that bad about it, they should tell FIFA (and Sky) to shove the match where it hurts . . .

oh hang on, it's all about money not football

Uefa s response to the 6,000 ticket allocation is pathetic. They said that due to the small size of Baku airport only 15,000 fans would be able to travel to Azerbaijan from abroad. Idiots.

This sums up Baku.

Baku airport is small and has very limited capacity. Road and rail are difficult and long.

Re: Season 2018/2019

But its obviously the ideal place for European football finals and F1 dates. If only they knew things in advance though. FIFA were in the same boat with Qatar. Who'd guess they'd build stadiums on the back of slave labour and fall back on the idea managing to host it in the summer. Poor UEFA and FIFA constantly taking absurd bribes only for the countries to make an arse of it. I'd finish with a sarcastic emote but I don't even think that's necessary.

Just for further awareness. There are four Euro 2020 games to be hosted in Baku. One of which is a Quarter-Final. Genius.

Are they not part of the same thing?

Do the 'clubs' really give a flying one for the fans or not :p:

A Singapore stockbroker is the major shareholder ! And this is the first match I've seen Beckham attend. He looked to be playing with his phone for most of it, you'd think he'd got out of that habit since his court appearance this week ;)

Very strange old boy as you go on about your enjoyment of non league football and yet you criticise a non league side that improves itself and goes up.

The Singapore broker only has 40% of the shares, I would suggest he would need 51% to be classed the major shareholder.

In typical fashion, billions of pounds won the Premier League. :dunce: Congratulations to Manchester City on their 6th Premier League title. How they went from a completely irrelevant team in Manchester and shipping 8 goals to Middlesbrough to being champions is beyond me. Truly inspirational.

Seriously, anyone other than Man City or Chelsea.

At 1:00pm I was sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine and watching Hampshire v Lancashire. I said to the missus it's a bit too nice to go to Old Trafford. She said you can't miss the last match......

So I am blaming her for a waste of three hours of my time this afternoon. I am moving from my current seat halfway up the huge East stand to a new seat in the South stand (Sir Bobby Charlton) stand next season, just four rows from the pitch, close to the half way line. Hoping that will lead to a change of fortune, can't say United where 'already on the beach either, more like 'all at sea'. :(

To make things worse Lancs look like losing to Hants in the semi final as well.

He might be late though for his eventual destination as they seem to be getting lost by going down the wrong roads all the time.;)

Already bought season ticket for next year months ago, and the refreshment bars are very frequent all around the ground, don't think they do prawn sarnies in them though.
