They let me home but only as I talked them out of making me stay, but I did say I'd go in Monday and stay. It was quiet this morning which was nice but same old crap with my other stuff. Oh well. |

I am home. One of my results was a tad iffy and, like you, I have to trot back on Monday but hopefully it won't be to stay in. Been warned not to have any alcohol in the mean time which is a bit of a bummer but not worth risking having to have a transfusion. ... and while I moan might as well add that John has had his confirmation of his new operation date following his op, due last week, being cancelled. Phone up to confirm as letter requests, says no phone = no op. Posted on 17/12 letter received 24/12 at 2:30pm. Phoned 2:31pm and no one answering any phones on the unit. So fingers crossed that this op isn't cancelled due to the delay in the letter arriving. I hate living in limbo. |

Bloody wind last night woke me up at 3. So will not be on here today much as lack of sleep, understandably, makes me grumpy. Shame, as it is the first time for a week I am grumpy.

Oops, I mean the wind that blows outside the house. Rattling my TV aerial which cost nearly £80 to get a new bolt fitted onto it to stop the rattling, then sitting down this afternoon to watch a film and then a power cut. Was having a great week until this morning.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
You are having it rough, That is the worse of an outside aerial, I had that with my Freesat aerial a few years ago, Nothing worse if you are enjoying a programme, Hope things improve ,

Yay - I finally got an appointment at the eye clinic next week, only 16months late so not to bad for them :)
Also in for foot and more blood tests this week. And a funeral up in stockton on Wednesday. Busy week. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Just take each day as it comes dilli and lets hope your tests are okay next week.

|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
l am sorry to hear about your transport problems dilli but sadly l cannot say l am surprised.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
As den says, sadly not a surprise. Maybe that should be their resolution for 2015, actually book transport for patients.
My moan today is one that I am sure a lot of people on here also have today, and that is cold. For the first time in months, I am actually feeling cold. |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Crap on TV to see the new year in.
So crap in fact I might even go to bed at 11pm. I could go out but my local is charging £25 a head, that does include food and some drinks. but with 3 people we wouldn't spend that on a normal night anyway. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
TV is always rubbish at New Year, I bet the people who puts these programmes on, do not watch them,
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
They put rubbish on because they assume that everybody is either getting drunk or going out and getting drunk to see the New Year in. Me personally, I am staying in for another hour then popping into a neighbour's for the last hour of 2014 and getting a tiny bit drunk.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
The two house either side are not an option, 1 sucks lemons (judging by her face), 1 couple in their late 80s and will be in bed, 1 has mental heath issues, and 1 lost her husband recently, but is unaware as she has Alzheimer's.

2G (GPRS) internet link. Barely makes dial-up speed when it's in a good mood. Too slow to get the "verified by Visa" page up before it times out "Unauthorised" so our VM account is now suspended 'cos I can't pay the bill :( Should have done it at the bank earlier in the week but didn't think I needed to.
At least my backup email addy at virgin.net is not linked to the main VM account so it motors on and I can still send out mail as well. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Just curious, and you can tell me to mind my own business, but why do people still not make their payments via DD?

Never though of that, sorry.
My moan is a small one. I went to Sainsbury's to get something I forgot yesterday, and found a patch of ice which sent me skidding for a few yards into a parked car. Luckily, there was no damage to the car. Or me, apart from the pride of course. |

Give me Calamity Jane, I loved that one and The Glen Miller Story was on the other day, that was so sad, tears were running down my face,

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Yeah, my nan says she can't watch the end of the Glenn Miller film as it makes her cry. One of the biggest mysteries, what happened to his plane. Hopefully at some point in the future it will be discovered.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
nPower. Pay £80 a month and had a nice rebate to come back in December, called on 20th and told that there was a delay and would be in by 2nd of January. Called yesterday, and tried saying that we had not submitted a meter reading for latest bill. Soon disabused her of that notion as I logged into the online account and told her that it says CUSTOMER METER READING SUBMITTED on 24/11. Oh, we need a new reading now as that is over 30 days old. So give the new readings, rebate will be in within 5 working days.
They also put the DD down to £65 a month, we called and had it changed to £80 a month again. Get an email from them this morning saying your new DD details are now ready to view online. Look, and the greedy grabbing (insert your own cuss here) have jacked the payment up to £116 a month. Seriously tempted to tell them to sling their hook and find a new energy company to go with. So cross right now. |

I left them back in October and I had over £200 in credit. trying to get it back has been really hard. they never reply to emails. they give you rubbish about how they're having problems at the moment and stalling you for another 10 days. I've eventually had it refunded. but they just didn't want to give it back. morons, crooks, and liars. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Got through to someone, they explained things better than the woman yesterday, refund is on way and payment reduced to normal.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I've been having crap with Scottish Power for five months now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better any time soon,
Yesterday they told me I already have pre-payment meters installed. They wouldn't believe me when I told them I didn't, so they asked me to tell them the serial numbers of the meters here. When I told them I can't do that (and why) but I'd get Natalie to read them and phone them with the details they got the arse with me. Ongoing.. |

Well the carpet grippers I have tacked on top of the 6ft fence panels keeps the moggies out of my garden. I am no long moaning.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I've never heard of them (carpet grippers) being used for that before, my brother in law uses Prikka strips on his back fence.
Garden a bit of a mess after last nights gales. |

We were booked into the Premier in Elsemere Port for one night for a concert, It was a savers deal for £35. But now the concert is cancelled, So it is not worth going there at the end of Feb as we don,t know enough about the place for entertainment that we enjoy, So I guess we will have to cancel and lose our money, As it will cost a bit for petrol too, PITY
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Sorry to hear that Nash and that is a bit of a bummer to lose £35.00.
