Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Liverpool are in Decline and have been for a few years now. To go from Rafa Benitez down to Brendan Rodgers is a shambles.

To pay over £100m in transfer fee's for some amazing flops is even more of a shambles.

But It's not all just Liverpool, The sacking of Harry Redknapp of Spurs was also a disgrace and it's going to bite them hard now.

Arsenal could do with a strong finish and a League/FA Cup win to stop this leaving for trophies crap.

We'll know more about these teams about 5 games in.

Don't worry Adzii, their incompetitance will leave us in prime position for 4th place.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I have been a Spurs fan all my life, and l simply cannot understand the logic behind Daniel Levy.

We got rid of the best manager that Spurs have had since Nicholson, in Redknapp and bring in AVB (l will give him a chance). BUT we are going after defenders and now we find out today we are trying to sign a winger and that Spurs may sell Micheal Dawson to Liverpool.

We have a major problem with the season now started we have one - striker in Defoe, we cannot rely on Kane, as he not enough experience in Premier League, Danny Rose is being sent out on loan(who has PL experience).

I can seriously feel that we wont get anything this season, other than our normal 8th spot.

On Saturday he had Sigusson on, and they had Vertonghen on the bench, and he can turn as game as l have seen him play on You Tube.

And we had Van Der Vart on in the second half.

I just do not understand Levy at all, he has the cheque book and could sign a decent player if he wants - or is he waiting for a Berbatov situation with Modric, who l think has been a disgrace to the famous white shirt. He was the idol of the club but has treated the fans with contempt, and l will be glad to see him go.

I agree with your first sentence but Rodgers is pretty good. He's unproven at a club of Liverpool's stature but is still a capable manager.

Looks like the Arsenal Sahin deal might fall though at the last moment. According to The Times (and seen elsewhere) we want a right to buy deal so that we're not just giving the guy a platform to excel for Madrid next year. Madrid do not want such an option.

I would rather buy M'Vila than loan Sahin. I am not too sure where Sahin slots into our team when we have Arteta, Cazorla, Chamberlain, Diaby, and Wilshere all capable of playing the same kind of central midfield role that Sahin would occupy. All are attacking mindend. I feel we need a defence midfielder there and M'Vila suits that role better than Sahin from what I have heard.

Wenger went off M'Vila after he punched someone in the face, but so what? We need someone capable of punching someone in the face.

He has apparently decided to take a pay cut. What he is on is disgraceful anyway £170.000 PER WEEK.

I reckon it's probably more that too though, as the Wolves chief exec has hinted that the £24 million they've got for the pair will be spent on new players. I believe Burnley had a sell on clause of 15% for Fletcher.

I'd be worried if I supported Sunderland though. The past two teams Fletcher signed with have been in relegation fights in the premiership, with eventual relegation ;)

Gillingham are getting a Similar chunk for Jarvis and we actually paid around seven for him, we'd have to win the world cup again for England to pay out nearly ten million.

I'd have been more concerned if it was in open play. OK we've got the crap defending out of the way, now to get on with the rest of the game.

It comes to something when Swansea and Fulham are 1st and 2nd in the Premiership whilst Liverpool and United are bottom and second from bottom :spin:

Hmmmm bit scrappy at St Marys. Cracking effort from Lallana earlier on.
He's been our best player so far.

Absolute rubbish.

It could just be one season in the Prem on this display.

You must be disappointed with how the second half has turned out Julian.

I watched the match Den they were so poor after last weeks showing.

Rodriguez wasn't worth the money, he really needs to step up.

The attendance was poor too.

As much as Torres made a meal of the tackle, I like that he ran into the penalty box. Not enough players doing that, and torres last season wouldn't have.

I'm regretting not having hazard in my fantasy team. Still think he isn't all that they make him..but he is scoring points and knows how to score a penalty

It seems that good old Torres has been given a new lease of life with that man Hazard providing the bullets.

Two points to make, Not only did Chelsea get rid of diver Drogba, they now have two new ones in Hazard and Torres, They should both get Oscars for the dives they have performed recently. Referees have to clamp down on this before you only need to be blown over in the box and you get a penalty.

I give AVB at Tottenham two months before he is fired, he takes off VanDerVart, instead of Defoe, who was walking off waving to the crowd, and puts on Adebayor.
Spurs need at least TWO strikers to give BOTH Abe and Defoe competition.

Daniel Levy will not like the performance so far, yes it might only be the second game, but we have yet to win.

It depends what levy and AVB are wanting.

It looks like they are trying to clear out the old guard, and get new team in, so this year is transition.

But as I never thought they should have got rid of "Harry", what do I know :)

Arsenal seem afraid to pass the ball into the box..gervinho had opportunity to do just that to Giroud, and just passed sideways

They need to do the one touch football, and be accurate

Swansea are the new Arsenal..wenger should get his players to watch them

Arsenal have been poor today so far and really need to get their act together quickly because if they continue like this the top 4 could be out of the question as they lack any cutting and scoring edge.

Only thing in their defense, they have new players. I guess not all players have an immediate impact like hazard :)

But they should spend the £40m they recently got, and buy a couple of players. Striker and midfielder

Maybe it is the pace that is wrong...Arsenal seem slow..but just had a spell of quicker pace..and looked better

Playing slow probably suits stoke's football...they seem ponderous (as opposed to ponderosa, bonanza ranch :D)

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Another average result. I am pleased with the way Arsenal are playing, composed, solid, mostly slick. Just need to get the goals at the moment. Still this time last year we lost 8 - 2 and a draw at Stoke isn't a bad result.

I especially think the midfield is encouraging and we're getting back some of the creativity we lost last season. Cazorla looks to be one of the signings of the season already and it's almost criminal we got him for so little. The Ox was good again, I suspect we'll see him more often now and he is shaping up to be one of our best players and one of England's best players. He has the pace, the strength and the technique. Artera carried on where he left off.

Our strikers need to adapt but let's face it, Stoke is not a great team to score against. Podoski was much better than last week and looked dangerous and Giroud showed flashes of what he is capable of. Just need these players to gel.
