On my TV it comes up as "Sports" powered by Connect-TV. Boxnation showed a fight on this channel last year, prior to launching on Virgin. The below link will give you some more info:

Some big fights in that list.

I really want to see Matthysse v Olusegun. Matthysse is a massive puncher, real fun to watch. Olusegun has been waiting for a world title fight for a bout 5 years! Remember watching him a few times on SKY when Frank Maloney promoted him. This should be a classic.

Ahh yes, i've seen people talking about these internet channels. Apparently, only HD boxes can get these channels and then not even all of those can.

I think Premier Sports have their own deal with FOX to show GoldenBoy fights. The shows on BoxNation are from the Spanish channel Telefutura. GoldenBoy have their fingure in every pie! In America they are on HBO, Showtime, FOX and Telefutura.

http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f53/gb...-deal-2050701/

"TV's New Home of Boxing in the UK, Channel 456 on Sky and 546 on Virgin, will show two LIVE GBP shows per month that will include one of their major HBO or Showtime TV events and one show from their hit Solo Boxeo series."

http://www.boxingnews24.com/2012/06/...-on-boxnation/

"On Saturday 25th August it’s a double-header starting at the 02 World Arena in Berlin, Germany with Robert Steiglitz’s seventh defence of the WBO World Super-Middleweight title against Arthur Abraham and then it’s over to America for a Golden Boy Promotions Solo Boxeo show."

I'm positive BoxNation posted something in the last 7 days on Facebook about this. I've e-mailed them asking to confirm if the Solo Boxeo show will be shown.

I've been here but not posting in this thread. No pro boxing to talk of as such! The Olympic boxing was great for team GB. Will be interesting to see which fighters turn pro, and which promoters they go with.

Mick Hennessey on Channel 5 will give the fighter massive exposure but with limited dates and Mick's limited funds it could take a long time for the fighters to reach their true potential.

Eddie Hearn on SKY will give the fighters some great exposure and should progress their careers nicely. They will have the chance to box on the undercards of Carl Froch and Kell Brook which will be a great experience.

Frank Warren on BoxNation will give the fighters least exposure but can get them out anywhere between 5 and 10 times in the year easily. Frank also has a proven track record of getting his fighters British, Commonwealth, European and World title fights within 5 years of turning pro with him.

I would love to go to Burns Vs. Mitchell but I can't afford it. Got the wife's birthday next month and our first anniversary. A punch up in the SECC isn't high on her priority list! Are you going to the fight?

Nothing from them at all about Solo Boxeo.

Exciting times with Boxnation confirming tons of fights. Still think there is a couple to be announced too. I'm expecting:

08th September - Vitali Klitschko Vs. Manuel Charr

13th October - Brandon Rios Vs. Mike Alvarado & Nonito Donaire Vs. Toshiaki Nishioka

Doesn't look like anyone will be picking up Andre Ward Vs. Chad Dawson, which is a real shame. I'm hoping SKY pick up Sergio Gabriel Martinez Vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Noticed Macklin is fighting on the undercard, and SKY do like showing Macklin in action.

The GBP deal involves one of their HBO/Showtime shows and one of the Soleo/Telefutura shows each month. Obviously this won't necessarily be hard and fast; some months there could be more, some months less, such as in August.

That's good to know. Must admit I'd rather watch HBO and Showtime broadcasts ahead of the Telefutura shows.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Great to have live boxing back on Boxnation tonight.

The undercard isn't the best but Robert Stieglitz Vs. Arthur Abraham should be fun. I think that we might see an exciting performance from Abraham. I fancy him to stop Stieglitz.

Noticed Boxnation are taking a bit of stick on Facebook for showing MMA on the channel. Whilst their coverage of MMA won't have an impact on their boxing output, subscribers of the channel just aren't happy. Subscribers are asking why Boxnation aren't investing the money in launching a HD channel, or securing more boxing rights, instead of investing in MMA.

Got to admit, I'm totally against MMA on the channel too. I pay £10.00 per month for a boxing channel. MMA bores me to tears. I don't want any of my subscription money going into MMA. I want my money to be invested in boxing.

I've got a feeling Boxnation might have to do a u-turn on their decision to screen MMA if subscribers keep on complaining. Surely Boxnation aren't arrogant enough to ignore their customers wishes?

Not 100% sure of the running order but below are the fights we should see as part of tonights broadcast:

Dustin Dirks (24-0-0) Vs. Sandro Siproshvili (25-13-0)
Light Heavyweight Contest

Robin Krasniqi (37-2-0) Vs. Serdar Sahin (20-0-0)
Vacant WBO International light heavyweight title

Jack Culcay (11-0-0) Vs. Frederic Serre (13-6-0)
Vacant WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight title

Krasniqi Vs. Sahin should be interesting. About 5 months ago Nathan Cleverly was scheduled to defend his world title against Krasniqi, but Cleverly pulled out due to a virus. Neither Krasniqi or Sahin have fought at a high level, and tonight could be both fighters toughest test yet. Sahin has the better knockout record, and used to fight up at Cruiserweight. Krasniqi has only stopped 13 opponents in 39 fights, but has stopped 6 of his last 10 opponents. We might see a stoppage in this fight!

No spoilers, but the action from Germany was great. Sturm Vs. Geale next week with the prospect of the winner facing either Abraham or Stieglitz.

Not interested in Froch Vs. Mack :td: I know Froch is due an easy fight but this is well below what I was hoping for. Watched Mack a few times on ESPN, not impressed.

Ward Vs. Dawson on the other hand :D Well done to SKY. I honestly didn't think they'd pick this up.

I'm very disappointed that Martinez Vs. Chavez Jr. is on Primetime. I simply can't justify paying £15.00 for a one off show. I know it's going to be a great fight but when did either of these 2 become PPV attractions in the UK? Still, as long as people buy it Bob Arum and Primetime will charge for it:(

I still think we'll end up seeing Klitschko Vs. Charr on Boxnation.

Tomasz Adamek Vs. Travis Walker might be picked up by Premier Sports, seeing they have broadcast his last 2 fights. We might however see a surprise UK broadcaster for this one. Adamek has been muted as a future opponent for Tyson Fury. The fight in the States is being broadcast on WealthTV. WealthTV and Hennessey Sports agreed a broadcast deal 3 weeks ago that would see them broadcast six UK based Hennessy Sports from its "Next Generation" series, which includes Tyson Fury. I have a funny feeling Channel 5 or 5 USA might pick up Adamek Vs. Walker.

BoxNation announced on Facebook earlier today that Nathan Cleverly's next WBO World Light-Heavyweight opponent will be named next Monday around 11.30am - midday. Whilst both Tavoris Cloud and Beibut Shumenov are rumoured to be next, it's more likely Cleverly will face the WBO #1 contender Denis Simcic:

http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat...uman_id=175549

Who ever is announced, we should see Cleverly back in action this November.

Another fight coming to Boxnation in November will be Marco Huck Vs. Firat Arslan. The fight was announced today by the WBO. This should be broadcast as part of the deal Boxnation have with Sauerland.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Well BoxNation have taken the first step towards alienating some, if not most of their current subscribers.

Tonight on what is supposed to be a dedicated boxing channel, they broadcast UWC Uncovered, a brand new MMA magazine show. They also confirmed on Facebook:

"There are longer term plans to show live MMA events, although we currently don't have any details on this.

Needless to say, this won't distract us from our main focus: bringing everyone unmissable live boxing action!"

I contacted their support team by e-mail to register my disdain:

"MMA on the channel flies in the face of what you promised for BoxNation:

"We're not going to get distracted by other sports"

"We want to put the fans first for once"

I pay £10.00 per month for a dedicated boxing channel. Whilst boxing is still your main focus, it's clearly no longer your only focus. I am concerned that you no longer understand what your customers want. I'm also concerned about the general direction the channel could be heading in.

I want to be able to tune into BoxNation, at any time of the day, knowing I'm about to watch some boxing. As soon as I start tuning into the channel expecting boxing, and it's MMA that's on instead, them I'm no longer getting the service I'm paying for. It's not just all about live boxing. It'd happily watch archive fights and documentaries all day.... that's why I pay for the channel.

Financially times are tight. People are being more careful about what they spend, and what they are spending it on. Don't give people, who have been dedicated to your channel since launch, a reason to reconsider their subscription as they'll quickly find something else to spend their £10.00 per month on."

Will wait an see what they have to say. I feel let down by them big time. Imagine if someone launched a dedicated football channel called Football Nation. Imagine the reaction if they started to introduce rugby onto the channel.

Frank Warren does breifly mention Ricky Hatton and ITV in his Sun artile this week:

There’s also a rumour that a possible Ricky Hatton comeback could be on ITV.

I know he is a drug cheat, I know he has no chin and I know he should retire for the good of his health however there is something about Enzo Maccarinelli that makes him must watch TV.

Nearly a week has passed since you emailed them about your concerns as a customer. Have you had a reply yet?

If not, this says so much about this company.

Not replying to emails and then making embarrassingly lame excuses for not doing so, which bordered on insolence, is the main reason we decided not to do business with them from launch.

No reply at all. I do however think that subscribers of the channel made their opinions very clear on the matter. Facebook, Twitter and Youtube was awash with boxing fans telling them to take MMA elsewhere.

BoxNation confirmed today on Twitter they will no longer be showing Olusegun Vs. Matthyse this Saturday. The show does actually go ahead. BoxNation have given no reason why they are not showing the action.

Word floating about Manchester is that he is turning pro on a Hatton bill at the MEN in November which will also feature Mr. Hatton himself and be aired on ITV

Daily Mail are reporting this story! He's going to be featured in a two part documentary 'The Gloves Are Off' aired on Sky One in the build up to his debut. Then Sky One are doing a post fight special, Allegedly Channel covering the fight from the MEN Arena in Manchester. Quotes from Freddie, McGuigan as well. 30th November, tickets go on sale Friday, Heavyweight contest, unnamed opponent. ITV are on the story now too.

Been following this today at work. It's interesting that he might be fighting on a Hatton bill. BoxNation did confirm earlier today on Facebook they will be showing the fight. I wonder if Hatton and BoxNation have agreed a deal?

Various posters over at BoxRec have suggested the Eurosport show is a one off deal. I think Ricky must have agreed a deal with BoxNation. Frank Warren has commented about the fight today in The Sun, and has made it clear he isn't promoting the event:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...e-a-punch.html

"Warren, who insists he is not involved with promoting the fight, is not convinced the Lancashire legend will make an impact in the heavyweight division."

The only other promoter on BoxNation is Frank Maloney, and I can't see him putting this fight on.

Since rumours started in July about Rickys return to the ring, it has always been suggested he would fight this November in Manchester. Both Ricky and Freddie are friends. I can't think of anything other than a Hatton / BoxNation deal.

Ricky Hatton return + Freddie Flintoff debut = £££££££ for both Hatton and BoxNation.

What I find a little strange is SKY making 2 separate shows about Freddies fight. The first show will air on SKY1 the night before the fight, and the second show a few days after the fight. I wouldn't have expected SKY to build-up a show so much which is featuring on a rival channel. Even if Ricky doesn't return that night, people will join BoxNation to see what many feel is a freak show. Personally I think Freddie is entitled to do what he wants. If he wants to give boxing a try, why should anyone talk it down or just outright rubbish it. He clearly loves boxing and isn't doing this for the money. I wish him nothing but good luck, and will be watching on the 30th November.

Would be interesting if they put him in with an Ozzie opponent :D

SKY are showing Lucian Bute Vs. Denis Grachev. I don't think it's live. They will be showing it on Sunday the 4th November. Will be interesting to see what Bute has left after such a crushing defeat at the hands of Froch.

Yeah some real good fights.

I'd be surprised if the Liam Smith and Joe Selkirk fight isn't televised. It's the main event of the Debra charity fight night which Warren supports each year. Actually when I think back last years event was between Jamie Cox and Obodai Sia for the Commonwealth title. The fight took place on the 08th September and was televised on SKY Sports, just 2 weeks before Frank Warren and BoxNation confirmed the launch of their new channel together.

If I had to pick just one show, I'd love it if BoxNation picked up Donaire Vs. Nishioka.

Pacquiao v. Marquez IV was confirmed earlier today. Taking place on the 8th of December. Not really a fight I'm excitied about. Marquez will just get robbed yet again.

Primetime will no doubt be favourites to land the fight however Boxnation might have a chance if the sales of Chavez Jr. against Martinez are weak.

This is a good watch if you're a fan of the channel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcSbB7s3_T0

BoxNation held a press conference earlier today to celebrate their first anniversary. Plenty of interesting information about the channel etc...

---------- Post added at 22:49 ---------- Previous post was at 22:47 ----------

Even more info!!!

Noticed that the British Boxing Board of Control confirmed the following earlier today:

"JUNIOR WITTER (Holder) v FRANKIE GAVIN

Following the opening of purse bids on Wednesday, 12th September 2012 at the Board's Head Office, the winning bid was submitted by Promoter Frank Warren. The above contest will take place on a date and at a venue as yet to be advised."

---------- Post added at 23:59 ---------- Previous post was at 22:49 ----------

Some really interesting and positive quotes from the press conference and Frank Warren afterwards:

Simon Green CEO in reference to the channels growth:

"The fastest growing subscription channel that this country has ever seen."

Frank Warren on the channels current subscription levels:

"The subscription levels we are at now are what we where forecasting to get by next March."

Frank Warren on the next 12 months:

"Some of the signings we are going to be announcing in the next month or so, will be great for the channel"

I wonder what the new signings could be? Wonder if it's another promoter i.e. 50 Cent (TMT Promotions) It could of course just be confirmation of more fights between now and the end of the year. I was reading that Frank Warren is planning a bumper Christmas show on BoxNation featuring title fights at British and World level!

Any reason given by BoxNation? Has the show been cancelled or just the TV coverage? Maybe they have decided to put more time into pushing Mitchell and Burns this Friday, on the eve of the broadcast, to land more subscribers. I'd imagine a Bunce special this Friday along with weigh-in footage and final day interviews from both fighters and their camps to build up the fight. As a Burns fan I think I'd prefer to see this than the Debra charity event this Friday.

Good to see Channel 5 sticking with boxing however it's such a strange time to show the fight.

Wow somewhat of a major coup for Mick Hennessy today. James DeGale has left Frank Warren and has signed a long term deal with Hennessy Sports.

Channel 5 viewers will get to see DeGale live in action on the 13th October against an unnamed opponent as of yet.

Got to admit, Hennessy has been growing a decent stable since he lost Carl Froch and John Murray.

I would have loved to go but I'm strapped for cash big time at the moment.

There is a lot of noise for Katsidis however after Hatton was stopped by Mayweather he came back against Juan Lazcano who was 33 and past his best. I think coming back after 3 years out against Katsidis is a risk. I'd be happier to see him in with guys like Kendall Holt, Jan Zaveck or Nate Campbell. Truthfully I think he'll announce someone that catches everyone off guard.

I hope he confirms his TV deal too.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Well Ricky Hatton is set to face former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko. On paper the 35 year old Ukrainian boasts an impressive record of 33 fights, 32 wins and only 1 defeat. The 1 defeat however was in his last fight, by way of knockout of to the feather fisted Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi was a big step up in class for Senchenko. Senchenko failed the test. A fit and hungry Hatton will toy with this guy for 8 to 10 rounds before stopping him. A very easy nights work for Hatton.

Apparently representatives from Primetime where present today however people spotted Ricky shooting promo work with SKY. Looks like Boxnation is out of the picture. I wonder if we will see SKY bringing back PPV boxing for this event? I certainly hope not!

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Checking the Boxnation Facebook page earier today and noticed 2 things that suggests they might just be in the running for the Ricky Hatton fight afterall.

Firstly on Friday they added a poll to their Facebook page asking people to vote on the outcome of the Hatton fight. Boxnation only ever tend to poll fights that are being broadcast on their channel.

Secondly they where asked if they where showing the Hatton fight to which Boxnation replied:

"We don't know the answer to this yet Martin, but when we do we'll holler!"

Not the kind of answer you'd give if you where not in the running to broadcast the event.

Oh I see. Fingers crossed then!

Confirmed for this Saturday is Zaurbek Baysangurov vs Lukas Konecny for the WBO World Light-Middleweight Championship.

The card on the 20th October is beginning to look epic!

Danny Garcia Vs. Erik Morales - WBC & WBC welterweight titles

Paul Malignaggi Vs. Pablo Cesar Cano - WBA World welterweight title

Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam Vs. Peter Quillin - WBO middleweight title

Devon Alexander Vs. Randall Bailey - IBF welterweight title

Plus Daniel Jacobs, Dmirti Salita and Luis Collazo on the undercard too.

It doesn't look good for Virgin customers wanting Premier Sports. The channel has been up and running now for 2 years and still no sign of it. Talks took place about 8 months ago but broke down. To the best of my knowledge nothing has happened since.

Looks like the closest us Virgin customers will get to the channel is the Premier Sports official stream:

Yeah saw that earlier this morning. People who have bought tickets will get a refund. Might be bad news for people who have already booked hotels and train tickets:(

Other fights on the card have been moved about. Junior Witter Vs. Frankie Gavin will now take place on 01st November 2012. Ovill McKenzie Vs. Enzo Maccarinelli is now scheduled for 09th November 2012 in Liverpool. Paul Smith has also been added to the Liverpool show.

It's a great move for Nathan Cleverley to feature on a Showtime Goldenboy card. If Nathan can come through this, looking impressive, a fight with Bernard Hopkins would become very easy to make. It also means we'll get to see bantamweight Abner Mares Vs. Anselmo Moreno.

Here is the latest schedule for Boxnation. Not all shows have officially confirmed yet:

06th October 2012: Zaurbek Baysangurov vs Lukas Konecny

13th October 2012: David Price vs Audley Harrison

20th October 2012: Danny Garcia vs Erik Morales, Paulie Malignaggi vs Pablo Cesar Cano, Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam vs Paul Quillin, Devon Alexander Vs. Randall Bailey

27th October 2012: Denis Lebedev vs Guillermo Jones

01st November 2012: Junior Witter vs Frankie Gavin

03rd November 2012: Marco Huck vs Firat Arslan

09th November 2012: Ovill McKenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli

10th November 2012: Abner Mares vs Anselmo Moreno, Nathan Cleverley Vs. TBA

30th November 2012: Freddie Flintoff vs TBA

08th December 2012: Brian Magee Vs. Mikkel Kessler

15th December 2012: Ricky Burns vs TBA, George Groves Vs. TBA

15th December 2012: Arthur Abraham vs TBA

There are plenty of great shows coming up in the next few months but they are being promoted by either Top Rank or Gary Shaw. Would be great if Boxnation could snap up a proper long term deal with either promoter, similar to the Goldenboy deal.

It sure is. There has been a lot on negative publicity however I feel if it's something he really wants to do, let him do it. I can't see it being a long career, 1 fight and he'll probably retire.

Here is an interesting article on Ricky Hattons potential future TV deal:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box....html?ITO=1490

The Daily Mail seem to suggest that Frank Warren, via Boxnation, are the most likely candidates to show the fight. The Daily Mail however then go on to make the following suggestion:

"The mould could be broken wide open for Hatton if Showtime, believed to have made the largest US bid for the fight thus far, were to beam their signal into the UK via trans-Atlantic satellite. A deal of convenience with ESPN would give them access to that network’s existing broadcast channel here."

Hattons return on ESPN, that would be great for XL customers! Seems unlikely but could happen.

Sadly this weeks fight between Denis Lebedev and Guillermo Jones is off. Buncey did mention on Monday that there might still be some live action on Boxnation, but nothing confirmed yet. I'm guessing they'll pick up the live show in Italy:

Devis Boschiero Vs. Antonio De Vitis for the European super featherweight title. It's being broadcast locally by RaiSport. Should be real cheap for Boxnation to pick up so late.

So know one will watch it at £14:95:(

I think most die hard boxing and Hatton fans will probably stump up the cash. Personally I find it very hard for Primetime to justify charging £14.95 for about 4 hours worth of live action when Boxnation gives you a whole channel dedicated to the sport for only £10.00 per month.

I usually watch big fights with my Dad, 2 brothers and a couple of friends. I'll pay the £14.95 if everyone else covers the beers, snacks and pizzas!

Would be a good test for Fury, much better than who he has faced in the last year.
