I've been averaging 12hr days and usually get about 50+ a month.

You're saying you are doing 13.5hr a day overtime? So im guessing your normal working day isn't 8hr as that would mean you're working 21.5hrs in 24hr lol

20 hour shifts, sleeping at work and generally doing nothing but working and sleeping.

Edit: My bad not overtime just normal hours

It sucks you don't get paid overtime for that! I'm lucky that i get 1.5x for the first 6hrs of overtime then double time for the rest in 1 week. 12hrs is too much for me though especially getting up at 5am so i dread to imagine what sleeping at work would be like!

Well today was my 1st day, the day seemed to fly past.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Good luck Homer.

My happy thought? Work related, I'm afraid.

We've been using a program to deploy OSX called DeployStudio (which is a brilliant system if you have multiple Macs to install) for a couple of years. Because we already had another system for deploying Windows on the Macs, I never bothered investigating how it handles Windows installs.

This year development ceased on the system we were using. While it actually still works for Windows 7 (in my experience, anyway), I have up to 90 macs to deploy with this system (71 student machines which will be deployed using this system, and 19 staff machines which may or may not be deployed using this system).

The system had it's first major test today, which I was rather nervous about. It worked well on every one of the 30 machines I tried it on. Well, apart from a couple that wouldn't pick up IPs (which should be sorted by tomorrow).

And to think they wanted to throw out the elderly PowerMac G5 it's running on.. :D

The downside is that it has a couple of bugs, for which I have had to find workarounds, but were fixed in the version released yesterday (unfortunately too late for me to consider upgrading the system before the start of term now).

I was at Manchester Airport when G-BOAC came in for it's final landing, they waived the noise limits, ported the ATC Feeds through the main PA system, Grounded ALL flights while G-BOAC landed and gave them a Honor Arch from the fire trucks as it made it's way along the Taxiway to it's current resting place.

(Note - this was not the final visit publicised, this was it's final landing.)

They look like just two oridinary Happy kids walking with there father, and nobody was hasstling him.

That is so nice to hear. I'm glad that they are both looking happy. That was nice that people left them in peace shopping as the kids have been through so much

Had a great two days away but so so happy to be home again. I'm just a home bird and love my own surrondings.

Every woman says exactly that in my experience and cannot wait to hug their loved one again.

Sadly I have used two contraptions like that when I was a teenager and my mother put me in charge of doing the laundry as she had to go out work after my father died.

The novelty of a combined washer/spin dryer later was astounding. Now people think nothing of them..;)

And there I was thinking you would replace it with a another one. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2010/09/66.gif

I remember my mum using a twintub and then we were amazed when we got our first front loading washing machine.:)

It sort of beats that weekly stroll down to the river making sure that Hubby's loincloth is ready for another hard week hunting.:)

Yep I suppose there are things to be grateful for.It only takes a broken down washer for us to realise how much we rely on present day appliances to keep our lives at a much easier level.

Some can complain their mobile phone or PC or TV isn't working but when the washer packs up it's a whole new higher level of pain..;)

Not strictly speaking a Happy thought, but it is quite happy and certainly something I wasn't expecting..

One of my facebook friends (someone who I knew years ago, and still say hi to from time to time) has just posted photos from a pub that's just across the road from another friend's flat. And no, these friends have never met.

A friend who has fought off cancer twice was worried it had recurred, but got the all clear yesterday. The symptoms were caused by scarring from one of the operations. :cleader:

Then to cap it all we won a dominoes competition against our nemesis team.

My happy thought, hospital again. But today's hospital is a tame one so I'm quite happy about that. :)

Mind you that's assuming they pick me up today. ;)

Happy thoughts indeed Angua, and congrats on winning the comp.:nworthy:
