Another anniversary: Our house is 100 years old this month, still pretty sound so all praise to the original builder: Alfred Clarke.

Your pearls of wisdom heero are very much a part of this forum.:tu:

Happy Anniversary to both you and your house.

Thank you Jo. You make me sound like a paragon of virtue. (Not really, I can be very :naughty:)

I'd rather not post than make demeaning remarks even if I think the poster is a complete.... :D

I believe you were also a member of cablehell as was. (Became Interhell but now only the domain and landing page exists, the forums have been pulled)

I did visit cablehell but don't think I actually joined. Cablehell always seemed to be a tad aggressive.

I do vividly remember that my first post on here was very nearly my last. I entered a discussion about the RED BUTTON - a very hot topic at the time. Helpfully, or so I thought, I repeated what I had been told on a phone call and got soundly laughed at by a 'Highish Repped' member for believing what I had been told. Would never have posted again if I hadn't been defended by a couple of even 'Higher Repped' lovely guys who become two of my early friends on the forum. :)

The support I have from my mother in law, future daughter in law, my boy's and of course hubby.

I'm truly grateful to have been blessed with such wonderful people in my life.

I nipped by son's & his fiancée house to see how it was doing and it's coming along fine it looks to me to be now wind and water tight as the garage door is now on.

Hubby bought me a trilogy ring for our 30th wedding anniversary and today I received the platinum wedding band to go with this ring.

@ Jo as promised I have attached photo of both rings together plus the lovely personal note from the jewelers where hubby bought the ring from & I must say I thought this was a lovely personal touch.

Just removed an old mono-block kitchen tap and replaced it with a new one. Swapping the hoses as the new ones didn't fit the old pipes.

My nephew told me at shool on Friday for Comic Relief thet put a Grand Piano in the atrium where they can sit and study and have dinner.

So he stepped up and tickled the ivories and played Bohemian Rhapsody, and everyone started to sing it.

He felt good as he played.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

I'm adding a new 2T HDD to my XP SP3 network media server PC but the existing SATA I controller won't accept the SATA III drive. Strangely the two existing drives: A 128GByte SSD for the system and a 1/2T HDD for data are both SATA III and work fine. So I've left those drives where they are and I got a used twin SATA PCI card off ebay for £10 delivered and it signs on during POST correctly.

However XP puts an exclamation mark next to it as it needs a driver. I have been looking for a suitable download. Couldn't find one for/from the card's manufacturer (They went bust a couple of years ago) but have eventually found a suitable one by searching by the chip number on the board. (INIC-1620).

Lots of places offering the driver but only if you install their driver manager which I'm certainly NOT going to do. I eventually found a site where the actual driver file could be downloaded from. (very obscurely hidden)

It's installed fine and the device now appears properly. Just a few more steps to be able to comission the drive. :)
